Yeah, i think one way to accomplish this is to make each skill very individual, with a lower skill cap, like firebolt-rank one is a standard firebolt, then at rank 5 it becomes a fireball, then at rank 10, it becomes a giant fireball that creates an X of firewalls when it explodes
One thing i would like to see in Diablo 3, is to make the game more graphical and less numerical. Why does the frostbolt of level 99 sorc deal so much more than that of a lvl 1 sorc. The bolts look exactly the same, there are just some arbitrary numbers in the backround calculating. I'd like to see a way to visually notice how powerful something is, so if you see a character or ability, you'll know how powerful they are, without needing to look at their character level.
I just don't like that the picture is the "point" of the contest, i thought the point was to be creative and original in coming up with ideas for classes and skills, if the entire point of the contest is artwork, then shouldn't it belong in the artwork section?
Well, i apologize for repeatedly bumping this, but its better than making a new thread everytime i get another idea for the necro huh?
New spell: Decay
Decay is a curse that is applied to the enemy that deals slow damage to the enemy, i'm thinking a combination of physical and poison. If the enemy dies while the curse is on him, a few seconds later, a zombie will rise from the corpse. The zombie's life is slowly draining, and life tap or other healing abilities won't work for them, so they don't have a time limit, just their health is draining so they can only stay alive for so long. Decay recieves bonuses from skeletal mastery, and as the levels get higher, it will go from a zombie to a mummy, and so on, so theres a graphical difference, not just a numerical difference.
I'm not so much against macs, its just that people who have macs never shut up about their macs. That being said, i need to get a new computer soon anyway, so it wouldn't affect me too much.
Hmm, its a tough one, but i'd say skills and abilities, to see how my favorite playstyle, summoner, might work in d3, although its about time i played another hack'n'slash rpg.
I want them all! I want to get my lock and druid to 80, see the new abilities in wotlk. I love rts's, CANT WAIT for the new, neat cinematics in SC2, and new storyline things, i'm just not that good at them. (rushing is my Achilles heel, i'm too slow to attack) Same deal with WC4, although i'm looking forward to SC2 universe again more. I'd also love to see what kind of premise Blizzard has for a new storyline.
I need to do some reviewing of Diablo Lore, but the greek underworld thing works well. Entering the realm of the Dead, and coming across fallen heroes and those who are punished usually is some hauntingly ironic way, as we know those who suffer their righteousness will know their eternal inheritance.
Yeah, i was just thinking about dead humans going to heaven/hell, or what the cycle of life actually is in the Diablo universe. I do like seeing a dead iconic character in hell or something, similar to neverwinter nights: underdark expansion, when you go to hell, and see aribeth from the original nwn campaign.
(the necromancers seeing the spirits was so suggested by me awhile ago :P)
Thats the ONE quest i've never gotten in Diablo, yet i've played through so many times.
I think that the apparations is fitting in the diablo universe, as long as it's not overdone. If too many characters just come back after their deaths, it will take away some of the emotional impact of their deaths, since you know the characters are never really gone.
Well my theory (theory mind you, quite possibly way off) is that corrupted worldstone makes it easy for demons to enter, but no worldstone makes it easy for demons and angels to enter, so at least the demons would be counter-balanced. This would also lead to a good setting in Diablo 3, travelling between sanctuary, heaven and hell, with much more divine(or infernal) presence besides the hordes of monsters.

I'm also hoping to kick some angel ass to restore some balance, since after killing 3 prime evils, i feel like the balance is off
