I'm in U.S. mountain time. When Deus Ex was unlocked it was precisely midnight for me. I think they have a way of knowing where you are. Whether based on your ip address or billing information, I don't know. And I guess if anyone is able to fool steam just to get the game a few hours earlier than more power to them. But by that time there isn't much harm anyone can do if they just happen to get the game at the same time as someone else living where it's midnight at the time.
Command Animal : Make an animal an ally for 60 seconds.
Resist Disease and Poison : Your Bosmer blood gives you 50% resistance to poison and disease.
Question: Does any of this stuff scale (specifically the 2nd ability for each race)? The Khajiit claws damage seems like it'd be good early but then utter trash mid/late game, unlike most other racial 'abilities'.
I don't think Khajiit racial is that bad, they can use gauntlets in skyrim right? Which means that +15 damage should apply on top of the hand to hand heavy armor perk and they should be really good hand to hand characters.
We'll start another thread when the game comes out.
Also I don't think you can heal your companions or minions, they can be resummoned pretty easy though.
I really want to do a necromancer but not a traditional one.
I want to go heavy into restoration too. A priest that uses the undead to combat the undead. Fight fire with fire so to speak. There is a nice perk in resto that allows you to do more damage to undead also.
Keep in mind that this was developed on consoles and then ported over to PC, so the PC requirements are bogged down by the capabilities (or lack thereof) of the consoles' hardware. Pretty much, to keep this generation of consoles alive and kicking, new compression techniques need to be developed so the consoles can run them without, metaphorically speaking, throwing their backs out.
Of course, taking into account that texture packs will surely be developed by PC modders, the actual size of the game can increase by quite a bit after release.

AusGamers: Now let’s step it back a bit, I want to talk a bit about Creation Engine. You guys have been demoing the game on Xbox 360, is there any particular reason why you haven’t shown the PC version? Because clearly that would be the higher end.
Todd: Yeah it does, obviously the PC version looks better. It has higher textures, it can run much higher resolution and a lot more graphic features. We tend to show it on 360 so that it’s a good baseline for people to look at. So when they then see the PC version it’s going to go up. We’d rather do that than have people see the 360 later and it takes a step down.
We’re really excited with how it looks on the 360 and the PS3. So we do author the art the same for all the platforms, it’s just that they render it differently. Also for things like this [tradeshows] -- I don’t know if people realise -- but as a game developer, the 360 is just much easier to show it on, from getting it started, to showing it, to controlling it, it’s just much easier to demo on logistically.
1- if i want to be a ranger (like the WoW hunter/ D2 bow amazon) am i suposed to pick warrior or thief?
2- if i download the game on pc #1 and create a character, then download the game on pc #2, will i be able to play on the character i created on pc #1?
That really doesn't address the fact that it is developed on consoles. That's just saying that they like to show it on 360.
Here's where they talk about developing it on consoles:
Bethesda’s Craig Lafferty has laid out some flamebait by suggesting that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been developed primarily for consoles.
“We use the consoles as our lead SKU,” the Skyrim lead producer told CVG.
“So we develop towards the consoles and then porting to PC is usually not too bad actually .”
Lafferty commented that the current console generation is still going strong.
“We could get a lot of the current hardware; we learned a lot from Fallout and Oblivion – and also it became clear with Kinect and [PS] Move that the new consoles weren’t gonna be soon enough for when we wanted to launch the game,” he explained.
Meanwhile, comments about opening the game to a wider audience seem almost designed to further set the core to raging.
“We wanted to take it and make it really accessible,” the producer said.
“… We still have the complexity behind the scenes, but we wanted to make it so that you could pick up the controller and play and it was easy; the average person could get into it.
“We knew we wanted to make the user interface a little bit more open and available … get away from the stats and things like that.
“We’re all big apple fans, so slick users interfaces is one of the things we really wanted to do, make it real natural and polished. You’re gonna be in that menu a lot.”

You were able to heal companions in oblivion, so I doubt they wouldn't allow it in skyrim. It was just like any other "target" spell, and you could shoot it at your companions. Trust me, I would use it on my unicorn alot.

I hope the PC version looks and plays better than that shitty xbox leak video we saw... I dont know...
Edit--
Ahh! That whole video is awesome!
