Just expressing my views over the third installment in the HL 2 series.
From my point of view EP 2 is the most action packed installment of all the three. And its difficulty level [on easy] is a bit higher than the other installments. Which makes it even better [and harder].
What do you people think about the game?
And BTW, i almost cried when Eli died. *sobbing*
BEEP!!! Real life Alyx:

I liked a lot of it. But I got really tired of battling antlions. And what really bothers me about the final battle is how they force you to use that Magnusson device. It's like, I've taken down those striders with plenty of other things, but no! I just have to use the grav gun yet again to pick up objects and hurl them at other objects. I can respect how they wanted players to go for different tactics, but you should still be able to use classic berserker tactics if you wish. And I just seemed to hit those striders with everything I had, but I get one of those Magnusson devices on there and they die just fine. T'was retarded I thought.
I also wished you could've knocked the striders off their feet by accelerating the car into their legs. That would've been really neat.
Still a really fun game. I really enjoyed the close encounters with the Advisors. They genuinely strike fear into me because they are so completely sadistic, yet highly intelligent and there is no reasoning with them. If you play Half Life 2 and any of its episodes, be sure to try it with the commentary on. It's really neat.
The ending was great. I was happy that Eli died. Not because I didn't like him, I did. But killing off characters is just a smart thing to do from time to time. You wanna feel like people could in fact die at any moment.
this game was awesome! i loved hl2 and both episodes, i cant wait for the next one. best fps ever hands down. (maybe doom4 can take the title later though?)
Yea... That black guy Eli had an extremely detailed face.. I kept noticing that throughout the game... Too bad his brains got sucked out (if i remember correctly?)
It would of been cool if the front of his face imploded and crushed backwards like a crushed coke can, disgustingly awesome
That whole "Unforeseen Consequences" thing got me really excited for EP3. EP2 had a good ending, looking forward for more about the G-Man and that Boerealis ship and Aperture Science
I played Half Life 2, EP1 and EP2 back to back to back so they really all blend into one big story for me
That part with the striders was annoying, all my areas were destroyed almost instantly and it was a epic battle over the rocket
I owned them of course
I hope so. But that could be a long time. I hear Id is making the next Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
One of the coolest scenes in HL2: Episode 2 is when you emerge from the antlion caves after restoring Alyx and seeing the Combine up on that bridge. They did a really good job animating it, even taking care to make the different Combine officers walking at different paces. That, with the Advisor tanks, striders, and gunships, it's quite a stunning scene.
I remember when i hit that warehouse thing and suddenly the screen shook and Alyx was like:''What was that!!??''
and then ''There it is again''.
I was scared for a bit there.
And me and my uncle were irritated. He said: ''Is the whole game made under the earth?'' [you know why]
And when we got out he said : ''LIGHT!!!''
And in the last battle i dont think we had enough ammo for killing the striders without the magnusson devices.
Tip for those who are playing: An effective way to kill the hunters is to hold something in front of them when they fire the secondary pulse rifle thingy. It'll bounce off to them and dematerialize them. lol
Epic scene: When i was driving my car and i suddenly look left and i see some fast zombies running over the train. I felt like it was a movie.
BTW, does anyone know Gordon Frohman? He was commanding the rebels. Man, poor rebels.

There's an achievement for that if I'm not mistaken.
Theres one for eating the crap of all the 333 glowing antlion health pickups too. Kinda irritating BTW.
[I hate those acidlions]
HL2 EP2 is now the first game on my fave games list.

Thats what made Hl2 so great... it was epic
I often felt like it was a movie. Non stop action
DOG IS THE BEST!
He owns that strider near the river and one of those carriers too. Cant remember which EP's those were in but just thought I should bring it up. It was movie-like
Edit- Ep2 had significant graphics upgrades aswell, enough to rise the system requirments (Along with TF2). The HDR lighting is very nice
Yeah DOG. He saved Alyx and Gordon from the advisor or else there was not to be any Episode 3. lol
And i had some serious fun playing it.
Killing the guardian antlions with the car radiator, lol.
I bow before the Vortigaunts though. I liked it when they busted the flying antlions in mid air.
And btw, the seesawing bridge puzzle was not so trick. I figured how to solve it too easily. [After 3 tries that is. First i tried to bash the car to the other side with the gravity gun but it failed, lol]

They seem to be two different genres for me.

so, uh, stupid question here, i need a new 360/ps3 game, been thinking about orange box...i take it it would be a good game to get(i've never play a single game relating to anything in it which is why im asking)...btw if it's less akin to cod4 please let me know since thats pretty much the only fps i play nowadays...
HL2:EP2 ending was quite possibly one of the best endings I've ever experienced, I truly felt like it was someone near and dear to me that was killed, insane. Blizzard makes great in-depth games, but as far as character development and acting Valve takes the cake.

Yea, I listened to the commentaries too. The part of the game that had me kinda confused was when you go to retrieve the magic goop and the antlion guard attacks you. I thought I had to kill it, but then I remembered what the vortigaunt said (something about not killing the antlion gaurd until you get the goop) and just ran like a mofo. I'd like to see harder puzzles in the next installment though. I do like how they really opened up the world to make it seem not so linear. Good game!
BTW, did you launch the garden gnome into space yet?

Fuck you, I'm a dragon.
It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
