I don't know that i'd relate a necessarily expansive vocabulary to the arts. Accurate communication demands it. Especially on the subject of rationality where loaded words abound.
Ok first thing you got wrong, this is 'not' a perpetual motion machine, those are two COMPLETELY different things. These are not hoaxes, look them up. You can even build one yourself to find out. http://www.brucedepalma.com/n-machine/
What this does, that i've already explained, is rotates a magnet and harnesses the energy that it creates. This happens because the magnet rubs up against the magnetic field that is the whole universe, and puts out energy (more than the energy requires to turn the magnet). The reason there are only some spots with a magnetic field is only certain objects bring the field out, it actually exists in sub space.
Second of all, quit regarding everything you've read from the start of time as fact. The only 'fact' that we know is that with all our knowledge of physics and the universe, we know almost nothing. Try opening up your mind to think ahead instead of closing your mind to think in the footsteps of others.
Of course I am open to new facts, else I couldn't learn anything ever. The key thing, however, is to have an open mind, but not so open a mind that my brain falls off. I exercise criticism and I am a highly skeptical both towards existing facts and new claims. Sadly, bold new claims are usually the ones that fail the test of skepticism.
The first problems with the "N-machine" come from using some source criticism. The site you linked for example tells that "Dr. Robert Kincheloe, professor emeritus of electrical engineering at Stanford University" reviewed the device.
Cool name, only problem is that he doesn't exist, and he definitely isn't a professor emeritus of electrical engineering at Stanford University. You can see a list of professors of electrical engineering from the last 50 years or so for example here. All Google searches with his name link to different versions of the N-machine story, and it strongly seems he doesn't exist outside of it.
Besides that, the article names some controversial figures (like Puthoff) and backs its claims poorly (claims without backing are kinda flimsy). The evidence provided is mostly anecdotal quotes which could've been made up by anyone.
Oh I completely understand, and being skeptical is far better then just believing whatever you hear =D Since I have neither a degree in theoretical physics nor have I tried to reproduce any of these, I am simply passing them on =) I would like to think they have a bit of truth, and the simple theories that go along with it make sense =P
I actually heard of the N machine through my boss, whose close friend tried to make one with a group of buddies. Apparently, and I have no reason to think that my boss would lie to me about this, this friend was confronted immediately by the state police, and was put under charges of domestic terrorism and all his work was confiscated. The charges were later dropped but he was unable to get any of his research back. My conspiracy theory bells defiantly go off on this, but it would also make sense. If everyone could build one of these theoretically you wouldn't need power ever again =) (unless someone came and smashed it)
Has anyone taken a good look at their hands? Just... looked at them for about five minutes and thought that you've just discovered them for the first time in years and, in a split second, almost forgot that you had them? Ever traced the lines and wonder why they're there in the first place? Ever taken your hands and held them up to the light of your monitor to look at all the lines that you didn't know were there before?
That's what I do when I need to convince myself that I'm actually here because, when I can't sleep and can't find comfort, I feel like my mind drifts away from my body and my head feels like it's a hundred pounds lighter.
In a way, it's comforting because it draws me back to earth. It's humbling. It allows me to feel the warmth of simple existence and, for a moment, let's me forget about what society expects of me, what the future might hold for me, and what I expect of myself. It just allows me to go blank for a minute or two, then reality comes rushing back and I can accept it.
Just thought I'd share that. I don't think it's anxiety, I just think it's my mind letting my body finally catch up.

For the "What is Science" discussion that I seem to of missed, I wanna just say that my view is the same as Carl Sagan.
"Science is more then a body of knowledge, it's a way of thinking, a way of skeptically interrogating the universe with a fine understanding of human falibility. if we are not able to ask skeptical questions, to interrogate those that tell us something is tur, to be skeptical of those in authority, then we're up for grabs, for the next charlatan, political or religious, who comes ambling along." - Carl Sagan
In other words, Science isn't the text books, and it isn't the labs. It's a way of thought, a way of critically thinking.
Who was it that said "Blasphemy is a duty, not a privilege"? Google failed me.
Sounds like Hitchens.
I started to think that, but then I got thinking, and Hitchens would just flip them off or say something like "Fuck God, is that good enough blasphemy for you?"
I think he's too blunt for that quote. so I'm starting to think it might be Dawkins or Harris.

I could completely see Harris saying that.
But I don't know for certain.
He's the most eloquent of the group by far. I think you under-estimate his aptitude for phrase when he isn't outraged or you've managed to miss his better debates and (more importantly) writing. Either way, I don't have his books on-hand to fact check, but he's the only of the new atheists I could see speaking those words.
I had a wonderful paragraph about the nature of discourse and the irony of our decent into order out of an entropic thread, but I think "u mad," is a more apt response here.

You do have a point. I remember watching the debate between him and the Prime Minister of England on Youtube and he is quite eloquent when he wants to be. Then I remember him on Real Time with Bill Maher and flipping the audience off and telling them to "Fuck Off".
I was on WoWpedia, and I was looking up a couple daggers. I noticed that they had the dagger I was using as having 5 agility, when it actually has 36 agility. I was like "Wtf..."
Then I looked at the address and realized I was on WoWwiki... -.-
I thought I was all alone in this room, but then suddenly my cat sneezes and I almost had a heart attack. Jeez...
lol. that one has happened to me before as well.

I want to get one of those neat shirts that says "We are all Africans" with the Atheist "A" at the beginning of "Africans."
This is the shirt I want. <3
Nom nom nom nom
I want all of those shirts.
Also, I got a question for anybody that might know. o.O

I sure as hell don't.
We all know that energy cannot be created or destroyed, and by extension matter cannot be destroyed or created.
So... Taking into account the e=mc^2, would that mean that technically you could turn gravity into matter?
If this is nonsense blame it on me being up really early. If it makes complete sense then it's because I am a genius. o.O
