So this is to be the ranks then (once Que-Hegan gets spelt correctly)? Or should Nephalem and Ancient be switched around? and Edyrem made the final rank?
Would look like this when it's finished.

These icons have to be saved somewhere, and I don't really want to mess with anyting so Jetrall might have to save them to the site's server or whatever, I would use photobucket as it would work, but should PH go down, so to would the ranks. Not a very good move there.
Also, feel free to suggest ranks be extented or shortened, if you feel 3000-4999 is not enough, or too many, say so.
Wow, we'll have these? Cool.

Are we still having a vote, in case people prefer Zetiam's skill icons instead? I don't want people complaining and us not having solid proof that the decision was the best thing to do.
I'm sure we can come up with better colors than these: o o o
I simply put a few suggestions out there to get the thought-process started. I didn't intend to have the possibilities limited to the three I included.
Anyway, I think you're just pushing the orange colour for Nephalem just because it suits your avatar and overall color scheme.
Wake up, dude. Elfen isn't pushing anything. *I* made the suggestion.
Edit: Woo, this post promoted me to High Council Member. So glad I didn't become a Paladin lol. Lucky.
Updated Ranks:

(new rank - have we decided on an order?
Its either:
Edyrem -> Ancient -> Nephalem
or
Edyrem -> Nephalem -> Ancient
or
Nephalem -> Ancient -> Edyrem
or
Nephalem -> Edyrem -> Ancient
or
Ancient -> Nephalem -> Edyrem
or
Ancient -> Edyrem -> Nephalem
Extra pixels on top right corner comparison:
Hmm, okay. The extra pixels do make it look better.

Why not add coloring to the text in the pic where it says 'cantor' or 'sexton'? Maybe the same dark-gold from D2? It looks too pain the way it is now.
Sorry, I didn't see this cause it was bordered in dashes. I thought it was part of your sig lol.
But lol, the text IS coloured. Here are some colour samples, which one looks the best?
(current)
I really can't make it darker, and if I make it more colourful (saturated) it just turns orange.
The letters in the ranks on the pic are not see-through, yes? As in it's just a single solid color. Maybe some blur is used so it doesn't apperar too sharp or jagged and stands out of the rest of the image.
If it is a solid font why not just take a print screen image from in-game text from diablo 2; use basic color identification; use that gold colour with the font on the rank pictures?

Sorry man, but I prefer the upper one (the one with the less pixels I presume). It looks less manipulated and more cohesive with the rest of the picture. The second one looks a bit bloated in the upper-right corner.
BTW, I think I can see black lines on the outlines of the pic. Crop-over? Maybe I'm just imagining it.
They look good. Can't wait to have 'em.

lol it can still easily be a ranger since who said you cant shoot arrows at melee distance xD

The Barbarian is from Arreat, a very cold snowy mountain top, but they are much tougher than normal humans, so they don't need warmth.

Where are Barbarians originally from? Sumeria, or more specifically Mesopotamia, AKA Europe. Think the Alps and the Pyrenees

I have issued no such proclaimation.
We are still in the suggestion phase. People are free to contniue to submit ideas for how the ranks (images) could look. So far we have 2. Atrumentis' quest icons, Zetiam's skill icons.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
Edit: here is the current text colour but with a darker background.
I agree, this one is the best.
And if Edyrem is going to be included, then I vote for Edyrem -> Ancient -> Nephalem.
If a different post gap is to be considered, then why is does the final rank start at 8,000 posts? I though that was really strange and changed it in the Horadrim ranks. It makes more sense to have the "final" stage begin with five digits, aka 10,000 posts. Thoughts?

No real reason other than I have more than 8000 posts, not more than 10,000. Even at 10 posts a day, which I currently do, give or take, it would still take me a long time to reach 10,000. another 1400 posts, so that's 140 days, just over a third of a year(38% If my math is correct)
Overall this site is not very active. I didn't what huge totals, as I don't think the majority of members will ascend to the upper ranks.

I agree. People will counter that "no one even has 10,000 posts yet" but you have to remember, this is a forum for a game that hasn't even been released yet. There are going to be a number of people with post counts greater than 10,000
But, for that to work, we have to stop being to generous with Custom ranks, or else there is almost no point.
DiabloII.net is a site for the Diablo series, it was just made when Diablo II came out.
We are a Diablo series site, check the name, Diablofans.com.
I never saw us as a Diablo 3 site. Even when we had the domain name diablo3.comI have liked this series from the beginning, always will.
Prehaps Nephalem should be 10,000. That would make me an Ancient under the current regime. A title that not only is diablo related, but somewhat denoted how long I have been here. Not entirely sure how applicable the Barbarian ancient's line "We are the spirits of the Nephalem" really is in regards to myself (Also There are not two other people to say the line in unison with me, hehe).
We are still in the suggestions phase, so yes, prehaps I will look to making the final rank 10,000.

Is that important? I feel that's how it's supposed to be, mainly from visiting phrozenkeep.planetdiablo.com
Last time I checked, only one poster had over 10,000 posts, currently holding the rank of Cherub, and that still leaves Seraphim as a rank no one is even close to reaching. But that's the nice part

Mybe we will jack up the post requirements when the site has a purpose but for now I think we are fine, 10,000 sound like a god benchmark. Cherub lol.
But we can't keep the same ranks if that's the case. Imagine all High ouncil members suddenly becoming Hierophants or something like that. It must be a bit depressing to fall back.

Would depend on how badly the got edited. Could just extent it from 5000-10000 instead of 8000. that doesnt really affect anyone except me.

Same thing with the background made a bit darker (and more contrast).

It doesn't quite suit it, its got too much green in it. The colours I originally chose came straight from the quest icons so that they would match.
