Yea they can get very creative with it if they want.

While i do think that using 2 two handed weps is cool it just seems kind of silly sometimes. Except on the barb because when he uses 2 greatswords it just looks 100% kickass.

I think the Inquisitor sounds cooler. He seems more like a hooded/cloaked/mysterious Holy Knight/Warrior kind of person. A person who could instill fear into creatures that don't generally know such a thing. That's what the name brings upon for me. The Crusader/Templar/Paladin brings the regular holy knight image. Big Holy Warriors in Metal Clad Armor with a Shield and a Sword. I just don't find it as cool though. Its more like a protector. I don't normally go with the Protector/Tank role. The Inquisitor though is someone who could just kill then and there. That's just my opinion.

a monk is not a re-imagination of the Paladin. I think its actually a failure to the Paladin.
I dare to disagree with the Monk being a failure to the Paladin. I agree that it isn't a re-imagination of the Paladin. The only similarity they have is that they are holy men. The Monk is a different form of a Holy Man. So I wouldn't count it as a failure, but a different character instead. The Paladin is a western/middle eastern Holy Knight. Someone who prefers armor and strength over speed. The Monk however is tailored for the East. Preferring strength and speed over cumbersome armor. Though in real life, they are fast but they are also in a way.. A living tank. (Iron Body Training)
i dont like anything to do with wow in diablo. wow stole the pally and if they didnt then there would have been a much greater chance of getting a pally in d3.
edit: also where is teh source that the monk is a holy character or with holy damage. They have a 1001 differetn gods so the heavens would be like 1 god?

Holy Character in Diablo? Check the Diablo 3 Site's character pages. It says there. In real life I think their god is Buddha, if its Shaolin. I'm not sure, but it seems the D3 Monk is close to the Shaolin Monk.
The monk will be the only D3 Holy class simply because he will be the only one with the distinct holy color palette. Since Jay and the D3 team will make every character distinct from each other, I can highly doubt that the unannounced class will be holy in the strictess sense of the term. How about righteous then? A kind of vigilante, watching over the poor, looking for balance in the world. That's something I would like to see...not a fanatic soldier of god, we already have a fanatic solitary deava worshiping monk
Yea a lone warrior type of character is what im hoping for next too.

Well thats a bit druid-ish but yea i would love a shapeshifter in D3, and if they do that which i doubt then i hope its atleast more than just 2 shapes like in D2.

Yeah, would be funny if we got a comical character though, someone like Spider-Man or Deadpool. You know, loud mouths that can't stop talking but sometimes some how is able to make some funny and witty comments.
Meh aslong as he kicks ass with arrows i dont care.

Why? I thought we wanted to keep all things cartoony in WoW and SC. They have the graphics, but we'll get the bad jokes? Sounds too light for such a heavy and serious game like Diablo. I loved that the humor you found in Diablo is that from your fellow players. Some of the best times I had is sitting in town talking, or in channel. /f m was probably the funnest thing ever.
But I digress.
Any others upset about the no paladin-like class, or happy about it? And why?

Lol, an ass kicking comical loud mouth. That's awesome!

I don't think Blizzard would even do it. Its just one of those ideas you wish would happen, but you know it never would. So you end up making jokes about em. I think you'll enjoy your chats in town more now, since.. Well no details out about it except that it was announced a long time ago.. Was that they'll have some kind of in game market. Since they're improving the need for gold. Thus why there are actually health globes instead of potion spamming. So, now you'll have more people to talk to.
Well having played god of war i can say that health globes work pretty well and make potions almost useless. I think ive said this before but the pally wasnt my favorite class in D2 in other games like some of the dnd ones i liked the paladin much better. I think its fine that hes not in D3 since we need new classes anyway.

Actually, I wouldn't say the Health Globes create potions to be useless. Since I don't think the Bosses will be spawning creeps. Thus once all the creeps are out, all you got is that one big mean boss. Now without any health globes to restore your hp. You got to rely on those potions. The cool thing though which Blizz did to balance out potion spamming to the health globes is also create the potions to have a cool down time. Also, IMO, that reduces the amount of space you'll be using for something almost unnessesary. I remember how much space potions would take in D2. Man that was annoying! But during that time all you had to do was potion spam.
Yea they could do a cooldown on potions or just make bosses drop some health globes.

Oh then I completely agree. Perhaps a templar, Inquisitor, knight, Crusader, there are a number of names for a paladin-like class.
