Ok, so this idea is reeeeaaaallllyyyyy wierd, but it came into my head a while back when I was reading some stuff about the medieval military structure and thought I could expand on it to fit in the Diablo world. So my idea of a character class is a melee/party leader (yes I thought of this enough so he can solo) that functions in a completely different way. I called it the Hauptmann (german for leader). He/She has 3 skill trees: Combat skills, Leadership Auras and... might suprise you, Terror Commands.
Combat skills are going to be more proffesional-trained-esq style rather than berzerker-barbarian style. Skills include Charge, Impale (faster than the Amazons), Smite, Spear Wall, Full-Swing (like Whirld-Wind but stationary and goes around once) and Crippleing Hit (slows target, like the items in D2).
Leadership Auras are auras (duh) that support you and others in certain situations, rather than one stat at a time. Skills include Rally (increases health and mana regeneration), Valor (increases attack speed and movement speed, while granting knockback), Battle (increases attack rating, damage and buffer skill durations) and Bastion (increases hit recovery rate, chance to block, faster blocking rate, and reduced damage X%).
Finally, Terror Commands. This is a completely new concept that I thought of, and might add overall more fun in party games. The concept of this idea came from when Russian generals during WWII saw there troops either falter or abandon the front, they would kill them on sight, and accounts say, instilling the troops with fear that a greater punishment would happen if they failed, thus making them fight even harder (to avoid punishment). So in other words, you would damage one of your party mates (what a team players you are!) to give all of your team-mates in the area an enourmous buffer for a short amount of time. Example: One skill would be you deal a hit to a team member that makes them lose 50% of there life, but causes them, you, and everyone else in the area to gain a 300% damage increase, 200% attack increase and 25% movement speed increase for 20 seconds.
So that is a possible character (or build idea), but I highly doubt it that it will even cut it to consideration
First the name should be english. The class name must cleary represent the archtype of the class. But only ppl who know german would kno wtf a humpman is.
Second i didn't like the skills and the gameplay concept. Combat skills are just the same of a barbarian - some buffed melee attacks, some aoes melee attacks, etc... The aura tree are also bad because one tree should never be entirely devoted to teamplay. If a character have auras and such they should be spread among the 3 tree, like barbarian's shouts. And finaly the terror command can be greatly abused. It allows you to kill some party menber you dislike.

"In time the hissing of her sanity
Faded out her voice and soiled her name
And like marked pages in a diary
Everything seemed clean that is unstained
The incoherent talk of ordinary days
Why would we really need to live?
Decide what is clear and what's within a haze
What you should take and what to give" - Opeth
