We all know the class types in D3, but are you truely happy with them? We've got a spellcasting wizard, a witchdoctor that does god knows what with the elements or something, a bookworm type character that looks like it was thought of in like 10 minutes, and the barb even looks dimmered down since D2. I guess my question is - where is the badass? They have one char left and everyone is like "Oh i hope it's a monk" or some other religous crap. Really? I think we should be prayin for a badass.
And i though those stuff would never convince someone.... "Quest Bolt" ?
Anyway... I'm pretty happy with the classes so far. The classic "spellcaster" slot were filled by the wizard, a pretty inovating class (ofc he don't inovate the genre, he inovate *inside* the heavy spellcaster genre).
The old barbarian brings a nostalgic feeling to the game. He also passed through a heavy rework and are much cooler now.
Finally the Witch Doctor are my favorite so far. He's very unic, i never saw someone like him in any other game - his far different from a shaman or a warcraft troll witch doctor. He has power over the dead and nature at the same. The lore behind him is almost good as the lore behind the necromancer. And really, Plague of Frogs > All. "Badass" are very subjetive don't you think ?
Hardly a class will be more "badass" then the witch doctor imo. And if they put a class that looks like van hellsing or dante (from dmc) it will be a joke for me (i really hate van hellsing and dante are just funny, not badass).
a witchdoctor that does god knows what with the elements
The only element the Witch Doctor commands if fire. I do believe that the Wizard has little (or no) fire spells, with all hers being of ice, lightning, time or arcane etc
the barb even looks dimmered down since D2
Dimmered? Iono what that even means... Ill guess it means diminished
Did you even see the Gameplay vid? The Barbs jumping and charging around the place like hes in the best shape of his life. Diablo II's Barbarian was a yawn-fest by comparison
The only element the Witch Doctor commands if fire. I do believe that the Wizard has little (or no) fire spells, with all hers being of ice, lightning, time or arcane etc
Actuctually it have Hydra and Meteor so far as fire spells. I believe the wizard will comand all the 5 elements ( it have a poison cloud as disease damage spell), but surely with a greater focus uppon arcane.
Maybe if you define wth is badass for you we could think about pray for one.
...
Wtf gilrs have to do with laught at other mistakes or disagreee with your unhappiness ?
And I'm pretty happy with the classes so far, the Witch Doctor has some pretty incredible mechanics for his minions, and his skill tree is gonne be like playing a revamped necro.
The barbarian is even more amazing now, the three weapon styles blew my mind across the room. Gonna be shitloads of fun tweaking with that char.
And the wizard is pretty decent too, although I'm kinda disappointed with the Arcane skill tree...

It is kinda funny considering even blizzard told us the archivist was a phony. I actually lol'd when i read this.
Anyway its obvious that the barb has been tweaked for this game, some of th skills from d2 have been abolished and others have been kept. I actually think its dangerous to revamp characters in games i know its a bit off topic but if you look at a game called smash bros they revamped characters from game to game making some players hate the game because of the revamp. anyway i trust diablo to revamp and from what i have seen of the barb i believe they have done the d2 barb and d3 justice.
With the wizard i think they look awesome, i like the style and i love the new arcane skills i also think the new beam abilities are gonna be some fun.
The WD is gonna be the funnest character to play, in my opinion, even though i would much rather just hack and slash than summon minions all day.
Lastly i believe the new rune system is going to be badass. It presents more badass than any character could bring to the game by himself.
The new rune system is the main thing keeping me hyped for D3 (aside from it being D3, of course).
That system alone will make every character incredible...

What type of class are you looking for? Are you talking actual play style or lore and looks. (necro...cough under breath)
Jay has stated many times that each class will "feel" completely different from each other. With that said that means none of the two classes will be pure brute force, spell casting , or summoning. More then likely the two classes left are a ranged melee and a shield user of some sort. Of course none of us know in what shape these classes will actually turn out. I feel that by the time the last two classes are released you will find at least 1 class you think is "badass"
In response to the holy class. Of course there has to be one. Let's not forget that diablo is all about good vs. evil. There can only be so many "dark" classes that want to help fight off evil. I only hope that they find a way to tie in the holy class as the range melee so it will be completely different than the pally. Plus that leaves open a fresh take on the shield user.

i understand what he means by badass, although i don't agree that it's lacking.
Barbarian is THE badass. he has "badass" written all over him in war paint.
while some like the Witch Doctor, i imagine his point regarding the WD lacking badassery is centered on the fact that the WD lacks physical strength and "coolness" in his appearance.
*shrug*
he probably finds the Wizard lacking the "badass" element just because she's a female.
although i must say, from her trailer, her attitude and personality scream "badass chick".
i think she's cool.
also, we have yet to see the male version of the Wizard, aside from a concept art.
and there are still two classes to be revealed. one will surely be a ranged class (there has to be some archers in the game, of course) and the other probably another melee type with some other added abilities, like the Paladin was.
there won't be any rebellious teen wearing black leather jackets and sunglasses, if that's what you're hoping for.
