Alright, let's face it, every game has a blacksheep. A class that isn't liked by the majority of the players and rarely played. Now, we all know that at least one class that Blizzard releases will make people mad, I'm sure some people don't like the ones that have been released already. This thread's purpose is to pose the questions;
Which class will be D3's blacksheep?
Will one of the two unannounced classes piss off the majority of players?
Do you like blacksheep classes?
Assassin's were not useless i had this one martial art assasian that would prob send any of your characters to the ground, she was one of my favorite, and most useful.
who was the blacksheep in D2? assassin? trapsins were by far the most useless...and annoying
yeah id have to agree with this the assasins were rarely played

I could see that happen to WD.
idk people might play the witch doctor because he is the closest thing to the necro, as of now id also go with the witch doctor though because i personally didnt play the barb in d2 bc after they nerf'd ww i didnt see a reason to and the other attacks were so bland but the new barb looks awesome, and the wizard also has some nice skills, the witch doctor only has a few skills developed so far though and from the ones we've seen he sucks ahah
I don't think there will be a blacksheep, one cause so many poeple are gunna buy the game. Also blizzard tries to make the game balanced as possible, and as of know i wouldn't mind playing the barb, WD, or wizard.
The way they are making the Barbarian almost a god like melee character, if any other melee is introduced I would imagine him/her being the black sheep.
I find it hard to imaging what any other melee character could accomplish gameplay wise that the Barbar cant after watching videos of him and reading interviews.

ah well put sir, i didnt even think of that...that would be so assuming there is another melee char unless they balance it out with its own attacks but idk i never found the barb appealing in d2 after they nerf'd ww and now i want to play him
The barb does seem pretty godlike, but he's very offensive, I'm sure they'd be able to give other melee characters different fighting styles, such as being defensive or damage returning or some sort of fast character like a rogue (which I hope isn't called a rogue. That name is so overused.) But even so, anything having to compete against him probably won't get played as much. ALTHOUGH, they could hype up an unreleased new character and make more people want to play it. Alot of possiblities out there.
so could i, but i doubt it will. He just looks way to cool.Even if his skills are a little underpowered i could see people dealing with it. The wd should be successful.

Summoners were useless and much more annoying than trapsins.
Trapsins are some of the best duelers and are made a ton, so they can't be black sheep. Summoners, at least Necromancer ones, are also made a ton since they're so powerful PVM and are very easy and cheap to build. They, too, are made alot. However, they can't be considered black sheep since they're not a class.

no trapsins are some of the biggest losers, they can only town camp, and when i get to them from wps, 1 hit kills i never really saw trapsins or druid/necro summoners. summoners were kinda not used much online, but they were fun for single player...

Thats how it was in Diablo 2 also before LOD barbarians thanks to whirlwind were unbeatable in melee combat. Amazons were weak with their spear skills, paladins were ok with zeal etc but vulnerable for damage in Hell and didn't match whilrwind in killing speed.
But thats how it was supposed to be, barbarian had nothing else but Melee so it should be that he will be the master of that. Paladins had spells (hammers lol), amazons did better with bow/javelin than close combat.
I suppose Barbarians and Wizard will be the most popular classes just because another one of them is really strong in melee and the other one really strong in magic. People tend to choose these extremes more likely than something with little bit of this and that.

They were quite popular in HC.. clearing the game naked was quite a nice asset for HC at least in start of the ladder.

I see both of them literally all the time on Battle.net. So, the condition for a black sheep, as defined by the first post of this thread, is not met. Therefor, neither are black sheep.

either thats a lie or your joining really random games, or your friends are those builds. i never see them, occasionally a trapsin...
and anyways, a blacksheep has two conditions set by the first post. and seeing as how trapsins are the most hated in pvp games, one condition gets filled.
but your right, these arnt classes, but builds. there are no blacksheep classes

Yes, I like a good blacksheep class. It was definitely the Sin in D2. Though not necessarily the Trapsin, but the Kicker Sin or just a regular MA/Shadow hybrid. They're never as powerful as your standard cookie cutter builds in D2, but they can be more fun to play in my opinion. I suspect the Witch Doctor will not be the blacksheep. But I really need to see all the other classes before I can decide.
It's also possible they're trying there hardest to reduce the likelihood of a blacksheep class.
theres plenty of unused builds in D2, one of the sad things about it. if i had the resources i would have definitely made a wc barb or wwsin. but both those guys require a lot of money and time.
ever since blizzard fixed the kick sin bug, those guys have never come back...
hopefully the skills and builds will be more diverse in D3

wwsin is an assasin with that runeword that gives whirlwind?
I don't really count that kind of builds as a real builds since they pretty much only arrived with 1.10 and the stupid items with + to skills of some other class.
Just reminded how much I hate LOD and especially 1.10+ lod
