Everyone is talking about the possibility of Leah becoming Diablo.. Has anyone thought that maybe her mother (Who blizzard recently said we will be finding out how she dies in Diablo 3) maybe the new Diablo host? This idea has been kinda rolling around in my head for a little while, and I have yet to see anyone else bring it up in any of the other posts that I lurk at..
Let me know your thoughts.

I'll direct you to my post here for some elaboration on the Leah/Adria topic.
My main question is what strong indications there are for Adria to be Diablo rather than Leah (assuming one of them is of course)?
Not to mention the black soul stone is right in front of her, if she needs to turn into Diablo, what is stopping her. She should do it right now!
That assumes Diablo is physically in Leah and trying to possess her, much like Albrecht/Aidan. Seeing has he remained in Aidan for all of Diablo 2, that seems highly unlikely. Entities don't clone or split themselves in the Diablo universe.
If we only consider that Leah retains some memories or some sort of essence of Diablo, that explains this oddity, while also giving her a unique reason to behold the vision of Azmodan. Perhaps there's even some sort of connection (think Harry Potter/Voldemort) going on here between the two.

But Adria having slept with Aidan would have a even bigger tie, no? Not to mention possessing a powerful witch would grant Diablo more powers than an innocent young girl. Not much better than possessing Albrecht if you asked me!
We're not talkinga bout actual possession here, as Diablo clearly stayed in Aidan for the durataion of D2. Diablo can't clone himself.
This makes it less what Diablo wants, and more what seems plausible. Adria was a fully grown human with a will of her own, Leah on the other hand was just conceived. Any form of imprint, in whatever form that could have happened, would likely only have affected her, or at least affected her to a greater amount.
And in any case, why couldn't both of them have been affected?

Here's a thought on a possibility for Diablo's return. A little bit of a long shot, but hear me out. We know Diablo possessed Aiden in Diablo 2 (retconned) through the soulstone embedded in his head. Before that, he possessed Aiden's younger brother Albrecht through the same means, the whole soulstone in the head as we can see from the Diablo 1 ending cinematic. We all think he's dead because we shattered his soulstone in Diablo 2, but wasn't it already shattered in Diablo 1? When Lazarus found it in the beginning, he shattered it already then. And since we learned in Diablo 2 that the soulstones cannot be destroyed unless at the Hellforge, isn't it all possible that Diablo's soul or essence is still bound to the remains of the soulstone still at depths of Tristram? That's a possible venue in which Diablo can come back.
