Well if it makes u any happier, i got hacked today in a game on Diablo 2 (i dont have wow). It was my GFG and i mean GFG Frenzy barb. Guy did something and all my gear just started dropping off and i couldnt do anything and he said thanks, and then my computer exited out and shutdown. It sucks
i just got hacked as well. my little bro got hacked so i contacted blizz for a new pw (he didnt have an e-mail) and they said that the pw i gave them wasnt working. so i quickly test and it says my pw didnt work! i registered an e-mail so i got a new pw. i lost all my gear tho.
i had a enigma barb with arreat, 2 sojs, botd etc plus a bow zon with fort and soooo much more

Yeah, this barb was fully decked out with arreats, fort, verdungos, raven frost, gore riders (i think), botd zerker axe, last wish, that attack rating ammy and ring... It was the most Godly character that i have ever played with.

I wasn't mad when I said that. But I don't know how to explain it. If I was saying that to you in real life it'd be in a way that I would be telling you you're an idiot. Basically what a friend might do when they say "ohhhh realllly?"

Well a day ago blizzard sent me an email saying my character had been "partially restored to allow gameplay until a full restoration and investigation can be completed". Thing is I still couldnt see my deleted character yet.
Anyway i wake up this morning no emails but i check WoW and BAM there he is
Im guessing they choose to restore stuff every time server maintenance occurs.
Anyway he is fully geared all gold i think i just have to join the guild again.
Ive done a spyware check, removed 18 objects (yikes) and im going to do a full virus scan soon when i go to college for a few hours.
Hopefully the problem is fixed and i wont be hacked again.
To tell the truth, you get your moneys worth with WoW. The techs were on it fast as for me, only took them a couple of days and they kept me updated the whole time.

You're not telling the whole truth. You were trying to operate a "dupe" program weren't you? Either that, or you were running some sort of script that you found on the internet, most likely something this guy recommended. A noob mistake.
So i open up WoW just now and it tells me my password is wrong.
I check my emails and it says i changed my password yesterday at 5pm. No, i didnt. And nobody else i know could have.
I change my password to something new, open up WoW again, log in and find my lvl 34 Tauren Druid has been deleted. In its place was a lvl 1 character named Allua. There was also another 3 characters created on other realms, all named Allua.
This was not my doing, I have never given out my account details, no i did not leave WoW running, at the time of the password change i was at home and my pc was OFF. This is clearly the work of a hacker.
So i emailed Blizzard and now all i can do is wait.
same thing happened to my friend, he had 2 lvl 70's deleted, along with 3 level 29 twinks, and 2 level 19 twinks. he told Blizzard about it, and they rolled back his account, giving him back all the characters he could remember the name to. I hope you didnt lose him, because that would suck. at least he wasnt 70. if you want, when i start playing again in a week, i can power level you to 20 or 30. =)

You can put any of the 30 non-alphabet/numerical symbols WoW allows you to enter in your password and still get hacked just like normal passwords, although chances are the process takes a bit longer.
You can get hacked within 5 hours without having a keylogger on your comp. A "safe" process will in most cases only stall the hacker unless he looks for weaker accounts.
You can also try to log in as many times as you want without getting a timed password entry lock on WoW.
Register WoW over a Email account that also has a very complex password. Account information is in danger of being breached if he has the email account that goes with that ingame one. EVEN IF EMAIL AND INGAME HAVE DIFFERENT PASSWORDS, BOTH NEED TO BE COMPLEX.
