So after messing around with some mods i am unable to uninstall diablo 2 now. I can't launch the game or the uninstaller. I tried removing it through control panel, it didnt workk. any ideas?
thanks
If you box DL it just unistall it. If u digital DL same thing then restart pc and files should be gone. If you didn't download it from any of that and DL from another site then you have a virus.
i've removed mods. i want to uninstall so i can reinstall it, it wont launch right now. i tried a pro remover and when that was done it just made it so d2 didnt show up in control panel(add or remove) or in the pro tool remover. i orginally installed with isos. any ideas?
EDIT: also when i did regedit and typed in diablo 2 i had alot more things than diablo 2 show up and i hear its dangerous to delet registry items.
You do not want edit things in registry without knowing what to edit or delete. You can corrupt the operating system and then you will need to re-install the OS.
I hope the Pro remover did not do something wrong and that it is a legitimate remover, since some are fake programs and are actually programs that can infect your system.
I have quite an experience with mods since I have been playing mods since about 2003.
Which mods?
what OS and is it 32 or 64 bit?
which version of D2 patch 1.09, 1.10, 1.11, 1.12, 1.13 and if it is a digital download.
if running vista/windows 7 make sure to install the game using admin rights. I explore the cd and right click on install and then choose Admin.
I also install D2 directly to the c drive and not the programs folder since in vista and W7 the programs folder is protected. I also change the compatibility of the game.exe and diablo.exe to run as admin, disable desktop composition, disable visual themes.
