Summoner (the corrupted Mage from the second act of Diablo II) was evidently the Sorcerer in the first Diablo game. After you defeat him Cain says he remembered that there was a Vizjerei who fought against Diablo and assumes that he was corrupted.
Huh, I always knew about who the wanderer was, and eventually came to the conclusion that the rogue was Blood Raven. But I never even considered that the sorcerer was the Summoner in the Arcane Sanctuary. What a tasteful way to reference the first game.
hmm he was currupted, blood raven barely looks anything like a/the rogue from d1.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
I think it was either Drognan or Jehryn that tells us that someone from the west came to Lut Gholein and asked for the whereabouts of Horazon's Journal. Whoever came to visit was the one that eventually found the Arcane Sanctuary within the palace and he was the first to open it.
I found this piece of information when I was bored one time. And each time the Quest Log appeared, I went to a dungeon/out of Lut Gholein and clicked all the NPCs just to say what they say. I even clicked the Gossips.
I thought it was common knowledge that the warrior was the one that defeated Diablo and that at least one of the rogues was indeed Blood Raven.
Haha, anyway, while waiting around reading everyone's gossips, you'll learn that the NPCs in Act 5 think that Larzuk (the armourer/socket quest guy) is a crackpot, and he actually was the one who thought of inventing a new weapon which turns out to be a missile/rocket.
we know the warrior and rogue to be white, i played diablo 1 today
warrior and rogue = white
sorcerer = black

The Sorcerer became the summoner of Act 2, and the Rogue became Raven from act 1. I don't remember if I read this in the wiki or in some other website. But I'm pretty sure of this. True read the wiki on Diablo II. Look for antagonistic characters. There's your answer!
