The new site is all nice and shiny, there are some bugs but that's okay for a new page, they'll get fixed over time. Overall, I like the new style and I think once everything's finished this will be a great improvement over the old website.
BUT (you know this was coming), there is this one big thing that really grinds my gears, and I'm wondering if I'm the only one. That is - if you come back after a long day at work or check the forum in the morning, the "recent threads" doesn't do it for you. There are more than six threads with new content, and I want to read them all, I don't want to miss anything, but I also don't want to click on every single thread to check whether or not I've already read it.
It doesn't work anymore. To be honest, the "New Content" button to me feels completely useless right now - sorry. Can this be brought back to mimic the old behavior again? The filter is also kind of arbitrary and not what I expect it to be. Here are the three features I would have expected when clicking on that menu item:
1) Show me a list of all unread threads. This information is there, because of the different icons. Easiest fix would be to add a check box that says "hide threads that I already read". Technically, this might even be possible with minimal DB changes and could hide read threads using simple CSS+JQuery.
2) Let me filter forums. I want to hide class forums other than wizards (wizards rule the world and everything else is just rubbish anyways, eh ;-)), and I want to hide PvP/hardcore forums to avoid accidentally replying to a topic in the wrong context. Not sure how difficult this is to implement, but this seems like a basic feature that should be there anyways.
3) Save all the settings. Really, whatever filter you select, it should be saved. Q&D fix would be to just pass the filter parameters on to the address bar, it doesn't need to be somehow stored on my account (though that would be nice). If I can just bookmark my "New Content" filter selection, I'm fine. Right now it resets back to "Last Visit" every time, which is hilarious; I visit the page multiple times per day, but I can't read every topic each visit. I'm very selective, if something seems to be a huge discussion I save it for the night, if something is a simple "read & reply" I can even handle it on the road.
There's one more thing, related to this... why is the "jump to first unread post" button gone? It was so helpful. If you wake up in the morning, and you want to read all new posts in a huge discussion thread, but it's not in the "recent threads" list anymore, there's no way to just go to the newest unread post. You have to skim through the entire thread and look for the first item that you can't remember. It would be nice if in the "New Content" box, clicking on a thread would do the same as in the "Recent Forum Posts" box on the front page: take you to the most recent unread post in that thread.

In the old forum, there was this workaround: http://www.diablofans.com/forums/site-related/site-suggestions-and-questions/3537-quality-of-life-suggestion?comment=2

Thanks for reading. Keep up the good work!
