As some of you know, this is a favorite topic of mine. Legendaries in RoS were advertised as build changers. While maybe a third of them are; I can't help but feel mislead. I dont expect all legendaries to be the absolute best legendaries , but I naively expected them to keep thier word on this. Most legendaries are simply rares that drop less that are little better then rares, or significantly worse. As Wizard, obvious legendary powers like "blizzard can now stack twice" or "spectral blade has increased range" or "shock pulse now casts directly on the target" were missed. It feels, and probably was, half assed.I dont blame the people who feel down.
Yeah, I agreed with your general sentiment. I'm having a blast playing right now and I was one of the people ranting against the game in the early days (some may remember... ruksak?) I like what they've done with it, looking forward to the xpac.

This is kind of where I'm at as well. Partially it's the incompleteness of the game at 60 (clever way to "force" RoS sales), but the other part is that it's still raining legendaries. Why? I thought we weren't supposed to get so many? I'd much rather have 5 or so items that I could use, vs. 30 which are all trash. It's a tough balancing act though, because it would upset a lot of people who don't play much. At the same time, with the 'pity legendary' change added to the game everyone is going to get something eventually.
Most likely Blizzard is doing this so we get more forgotten souls to reroll. The more I think about it, the more it makes sense.
I appreciate the video and commentary on level 60 legendaries. However, one line I really cannot agree with is the following (8:45):
'This is kind of what Blizzard are doing...they are making the game incomplete at 60 and its going to hurt everyone'.
If there wasn't an expansion that is soon to be released, then I would be in total agreement with you. However, having played WoW for years and experiencing all of those expansion packs and the final patches that always get released right before launch - I can say that these new systems that have been put in place, but don't work perfectly well yet, is the NORM for blizzard. They know that the majority of their playerbase will get the expansion, where the new systems in place were meant to work.
I really wouldn't worry about it much anymore. ROS streamers over the last several months seem more or less content with the new loot system. Additionally, I think the Pros of the new system outweigh any of the current Cons.

That's the whole fucking point!
You clearly didn't understand what was wrong with Loot 1.x. The average Joe would go weeks and weeks without finding anything of substance. Blizzard correctly identified, with player feedback, that massive bad luck streaks and just general dry streaks are completely not fun when you only have an hour or two to play.
People like to log in and feel like they can make some progress, feel like the monsters they're killing have a legitimate chance to drop something useful. "Useful" is difficult-to-define right now because there are slots at level 60 where Loot 2.x is actually worse than Loot 1.x so people who had 400k DPS before the patch are probably not finding that many items to use. But, frankly, people who had that level of gear probably weren't playing self-found, and therefore really aren't the main audience for RoS or Loot 2.x.
If you haven't noticed, Loot 2.0 has BoA items and an emphasis on finding your own gear. People who aren't finding "useful" items right now are almost certainly people who made copious use of the AH which has continued to taint their experience even after itemization has received a major overhaul. Most of my friends who quit the game have come back to give 2.x a try. Most of them are ecstatic that they are finding items, that they're generally relevant, etc. They're happy that they're finding legendaries as they level as compared to their previous experience of going 1-60 without finding any.
These are people who quit because the reward loop was completely FUBAR in 1.x. They didn't quit because the game was bad. They quit because they simply weren't being rewarded for their investment in a manner that made them want to re-invest. 2.x fixes this. So to call them "pity" drops or otherwise insinuate they're "welfare loot" is patently stupid and ignorant of what the changes are intended to do.
Oddly enough, a few of my friends, who couldn't even handle MP3 in 1.x have come back, hit the AH, and are now telling me how awesome they are for rolling T4. So, the irony is simply that people cannot help themselves. One might argue that this is much more an example of "pity" loot than people actually going out into the world, killing things, and getting drops. I DON'T WANT TO WAIT... I WANT IT NOW... I GO TO AH AND BUY IT. Awwww is poor baby too good to spend time acquiring gear? There there.... *pats*
