I can't seem to chose a nickname. And ever since Battle.Tag was announced I've been uptight about choosing one.
I'm 23 already and every single name I come up with seems either silly or immature or just plain, so I've decided to just go with my last name. I'll enter it on Sunday, maybe i'll have an idea pop out of this thread or until then.
I had an easy time with it. Because of the unique identifier numbers you don't have to choose something nobody else has but you should choose something a bit unique. So BlackMarch was my choice. Didn't even need to think about it
Back when I was 14 I used the nickname Vegeta50 on IRC. When I was 15, I got my first girlfriend, who also used IRC. She at some point started calling me Veggie. The relationship didn't last too long, but the name Veggie always stuck with me, and when that's taken, I add 50 behind it. =)
That stupid nickname stuck with me for almost 10 years now. xD
When I played WoW, I used renaissance composer names. I never had any problem getting the names I wanted, either. When I played SC2, I used Rigel, from the constellation Orion. I've grown to like that name, so Rigel is my Battletag.
My first character will be a Witch Doctor, and his name shall be Betelgeuse.
You don't have any internet alias's? Malkishua is the last name you spoke of?
If not, why don't you just use that?
I myself came up my nick a long long time ago when I first got to play Starsiege: Tribes.
It has evolved a bit but Reisor is the nick I always use, unless it is taken. And if it is, like it was on curse, I'll simply add an "i" to the end of it.
Malkishua is just a cool hebrew name
Means King of Salvation.
Not that I see myself as one, It's just my dogs name and I like it
Problem is its a male only name, and in some places its taken. Its not popular but not unique either, so its a problem for me.
I don't like adding numbers and such, so.
Just looking for a good solid nick.
I'd use Adrian, but its ALWAYS taken EVERYWHERE.
No matter what IRC server, its taken.

That is a great nickname story. I use Mank... my name is Manny and when me and my friends were 4th-6th grade pokemon was big and I was being called Mankey. Eventually people just started calling em Mank instead of Mankey. In games I have always used the Mank or Afro in my character names and profiles ever since (afro because I used to have an afro and it was awesome).
Have been using this nick through all games for years that I have played and it contains my first name. As a little bonus it fits my past in a certain way.
OP, choose your name wisely and take your time. The name is the second-most important after the most important thing: you have to feel good with it. Think about yourself and what you want to be or not to be. Hope this helped a little bit.
I know man I'm trying for AGES to get a decent nickname. I just can't seem to feel good about any nick except my last name, Adrian, which is problematic since its taken everywhere. Fine, so in BT I can use it, but what then? I want to join an IRC channel and its reserved. Forums, reserved, other games, reserved. You get the idea.

A cool name that you actually like is all you need, doesn't matter if it's the dogs name
You don't need to figure out really unique name, you can go with Legolas if you like. Blizzard will add 4 random numbers to your name. Then your tag would be something like Legolas#1234. The random numbers after the name don't show up on chat or anywhere else except on your profile.
And no I am not saying that you should go with Legolas, it is just the most used and generic nick I thought of.
Actually I am asking you, please don't go with Legolas, it is sooo lame!
Read up what I said about Adrian being the only name I like (my last name) and it being taken simply everywhere.
And Malk is just a name of my dog, I don't really like it as a nick, not to mention I've actually encountered places where it was actually taken.

Oh sorry I must have misunderstood something big time..
But yeah if you don't figure anything else, you will be able to use Adrian because of the random four identification numbers that you will automatically get to the end of your battletag.
But thats just temp, since I want to start using IRC again and Malkishua is actually taken in some places, same as Adrian.
So just choosing a BT won't solve this issue I'm afraid
Im left handed and have Italian heritage. The left hand is thought of as being evil in many cultures. My grandparent even tried to make me right handed by not allowing me to use my left when around them (Im pretty ambidextrous now).
Also, its considered evil, and fits this games theme well, of course.
sin·is·ter [sin-uh-ster]
1. threatening or portending evil, harm, or trouble; ominous: asinister remark. 2. bad, evil, base, or wicked; fell: his sinister purposes. 3. unfortunate; disastrous; unfavorable: a sinister accident. 4. of or on the left side; left. 5. Heraldry . noting the side of an escutcheon or achievementof arms that is to the left of the bearer ( opposed todexter).

Thats kind of cool
Although you are aware that Sinestra is a boss in WoW, right?
It's been about 10 years since I started hiding under the nick "Greenfield" once I saw I am able to grab that for B.net battle tag I knew I'm getting it because everywhere where I can get the nick "Greenfield" I get it. I use it even on Skype, some think it is immature, but I like it and it is far better than being something like 20th Gabriel in the contacts list.
btw the nick "Greenfield" was inspired by the Dave Greenfield, a keyboard player of "The Stranglers"

So how did you chose YOUR B.T, or nickname?
Adrian.
Everyone has called me by that name in games ever since.

And I hate putting numbers after :|
Funny you said it.
It's Malkishua

lol
God I love that show. Watched every single episode at least twice.
And yes, totally real D:
But I mentioned above why its not a good name
So still need to find a decent one.
