Okay, I'm hearing 2 different answers. One being it will be available for 12am midnight in my timezone, and I'm hearing 12am Pacific Daylight Time (Blizz's office location)..all the more reason for clarification from Blizzard on this..Someone send a tweet to bashiok or JW perhaps?
Highlander trust me on this, they don't release on midnight in your time zone, its theirs, as people have said it wouldn't be "fair" to release it at different times, as I would be able to play it before you :P!
You should be happy though! Just go to bed early and wake up at like 3:30 to play! It comes out at 1:00 AM where I am so sleep isn't an option, but who is going to be able to sleep knowing its just hours away!
While the game MAY be launched this way which would prove you correct this time, they HAVE released games at midnight in EACH time zone previously. WoTLK, Burning Crusade were both released at midnight per zone. Whether or not people thought it was "fair" as you state it, did not matter.

Yep that would be the plan for me. Just need to know WHEN to get up!
It would make no sense to make the servers live at midnight PDT. I live in the UK and all the stores will start selling the game at midnight right? Iv bought my game and now i ahve to go home and wait till 8am to play? Whats the point of selling at midnight then?
I might be completely wrong but makes no sense.
I know it makes no sense but I've seen it happen with the more recent Call of Duty and Battlefield 3 servers. Didn't go live until midnight at their head office location regardless of where other players were on the planet.

If they have Feats of Strength for Region/Server first [whatever], they want a unified time for everyone to start so people have an equal chance to get them. I remember one of the biggest complaints when WotLK came out was that the servers had a staggered release so certain people got a head start on the achievements.
You may not care, and I certainly don't care about these things, but there are a lot of people who do, including Blizzard, as achievements are one of the features they consider to add replayability to the game.
I can see the logic in a single planet-wide 'start time' so everyone can jump in together and play - I'd just like to know if that's going to happen. I'm sure Blizz will let us know at some point.
tell me something guys - when you say midnight of may 15th - does this means that the night to play is between the 14th to 15th or is it from the 15th to 16th ?
14->15
so very very very very very early 15th or you can think of it as very very very very very late 14th =)
Molster! I posted this in an old thread and since you are hereee. I got a question! When cataclysm hit the servers were packed, but mine did not crash (Some might have?), this could be because they learned from the previous 3 launch dates, which all had plenty of crashes. For that release they made the servers available for everyone at the same time, and that was the one that did not crash ( for me). SWTOR tried to "ease" people in with the whole presale deal for early play, now I'm not saying blizzard should or would ever do that presale early play stuff, but would the easing people in at different time zones help? Or because of the short timeframe they would have to adapt before another time-zone were available would that not be worth it? I say this because the last thing I want is to log in, find a boat floating through tristram, then get kicked to find servers are down.

see, my wotlk never crashed on release date either (servers that is) nor did cata. I really dont think letting everyone in at one time or not has anything to do with server stability. Just about letting people play, with also trying to be "fair" which, you can't really do I guess

So, while Blizzard isn't sure yet (as stated in Bashiok's twitter feed) you know for them. It is without a doubt a fact that Burning Crusade and WotLK, for instance, were available to play when midnight hit in each time zone. On the flip side once I got home from the store and installed Cataclysm I had to wait until 3am to play. I'm simply pointing out that none of this has been set in stone in the past and shouldn't be assumed to be so in the future.
Personally, I think the game US Servers will be up and running at midnight PST the same way Cataclysm launched. However, I don't think this has anything to do with being "fair" to people. I think it just makes sense for Blizzard to base the things they do on their home timezone. I wouldn't be surprised if European servers go live based on the timezone for France. Since so many people will have the digital download installed already it makes more sense for it to go online at the same time. it wasn't that long ago that you didn't have any options since you couldn't do anything until you got the discs from the store anyway.
thats when the digital pre-order becomes active, not the servers (thought it could be the case that. that is also when they come online, but we dont know yet)
It will most likely be PST, but for games like SC2 and D3, you should be able to play by the time you are able to pick it up at the stores.
Here's a funny story for you all though.
I got the 1 year WoW plan and I was hoping to get my copy of the Collector's Edition at a time before my 6 month reoccurring plan renewed itself. By getting the CE, I'm pretty sure that when you plug in the CE code into your account, you get at least 4 months of gameplay time on your WoW sub when doing the 1 year plan (to compensate for you buying the game twice, 15x4= $60.) I wanted to plug in the CE code to use those 4 months to finish my 1 year contract to save some money. After hearing about the release date, I went on my account today to see when it renews and I saw this...
GAME TIME

Perfect timing! lol. Even if I don't get my hands on the code or plug it in on the 25th, I will still be switching to the 1 month plan anyways so I have a month or two to plug it in: 6+1+1+4=12
So, europeans can actually play earlier than americans?
That has been a slight problem in WoW for years. Euro players always got WoW faster than other regions like North America, so some say that's one reason they get World firsts in killing specific raid bosses when an Expansion is released.

Some people tell me I'm going to hell. I just let them know that I've already packed my bags!

thats midnight, not noon.
and they dont check, they just enable the servers at that time zone (so everyone can play, as stores sell the games) (at 12 their time zone)
or 12 est, we don't know yet, nor do they

This has not been clarified by Blizzard, and at best, is pure speculation at the moment.

And really if European play a few hours before me, I don't care at all seriously.
