Why do you care about why other people play the game? Get over yourself and what you think people should be doing in game. You didn't pay for their game thus you can't tell them what to do with it.
everyone has on perspective of gameplay. i like the new transmog and cosmetic due to new looks if you dont like then dont hunt then as easy as that. because its funs hunting goblin in game, doing higher grift make me bored, thats why i like hunting.

To this day I'll charge off across the map after a goblin just because that's what I wanna do. is it sane? Is the reward justifiable? Do I occasionaly get my ass handed to me by the map? Mostly yes.
BTW, still no Live Moore pet, but I found Development Hell in the process! I always check the Cemetery since it is just "above" Wheeping Hollow.
Even managed to get Gibbering Gemstone from Chiltara in season, so I have Staff of Herding in S6, as well.
To get to the point of the topic - I unlocked my stash tab, and don't have a dedicated group to hunt GR records and paragons. So, I find it satisfying to get a nice Cosmetic drop, and it is a bit different then what we used to play in previous seasons.
i agree, cosmetic hunts are lame af, but i also like to look good in an rpg... so i'm paradoxical in a sense. xD
although in this day and age is almost mandatory to have cosmetics in game, be it for the microtransaction or simple because... PEOPLE!
