When Tyrael blew up the Worldstone, the explosion was so awesome and sent him so high up in the air that it took 25 years before he fell down again. O:
That made me laugh lol
Who knows what happened.. too me it does look like someone is in that meteor thing
Yeah, but if a real meteor hit Tristram, Cain and that girl would be dead.
I don't know how gravity works in Sanctuary, but the last time a meteor of that size hit Earth it made a forest in Russia look like ground zero for a nuclear bomb.
I think that it's important to remember that a comet is essentially a huge rock falling into the earth and through the atmosphere. So somewhere behind the fire and the flames there's a rock. The outline drawn could just simply be the outline we're seeing of the rock that's falling.
But like all of us, I don't know for sure. Just trying to be bring all sides of it to the table.

Izual? he's dead, you killed him.
You killed what was imprisoning him. But after you release him you learn that he was the one that helped out the Prime Evils and clued them in on the soulstones. I doubt after that he'd even consider trying to go back into the Heavens.
What a douche...

It has to be an angel.
But it's a comet, and this isn't Tunguska.
Honestly, you can't tell it size while it's still in the air, and you see it for a split second kind of in the cathedral. It's not that big.
did you guys see small flames bursting out of the initial giant comet? It could be that these small flames represent the demons that are going to bring chaos to the world of sanctuary and will be the bosses at the end of each acts?

Yes I saw the small off shoots of the comet, but the comet is NOT a demon. I will say that with almost 100% confidence.

Yes but maybe Tyrael or angel Imperius is carrying some kinds of demon stones that are going to revive dormant demons?
When Deckard Cain returns to the ruins of Tristram Cathedral seeking clues to defeat new stirrings of evil, a fiery harbinger of doom falls from the heavens, striking the very ground where Diablo once entered the world. This fire from the sky reawakens ancient evilsand calls the heroes of Sanctuary to defend the mortal world against the rising powers of the Burning Hells, once again.
Can someone tell me what hints were in Diablo 2 that even gave a hint that Tyreal was, or was being turned, evil? Seriously I find this to be just as bad as the whole Cain is evil theory. I bet if he wasn't in the gameplay or teaser trailers everyone would think its cain in the meteor.. You guys are all crazy.
Two decades have passed since the demonic denizens, Diablo, Mephisto, and Baal, wandered the world of Sanctuary in a vicious rampage to shackle humanity into unholy slavery. Yet for those who battled the Prime Evils directly, the memory fades slowly and the wounds of the soul still burn. When Deckard Cain returns to the ruins of Tristram's Cathedral seeking clues to new stirrings of evil, a comet from the heavens strikes the very ground where Diablo once entered the world. The comet carries a dark omen in its fiery being and it calls the heroes of Sanctuary to defend the mortal world against the rising powers of the Burning Hells – and even the failing luminaries of the High Heavens itself.
This is what the intro was before it was changed.
So it has to be true that there is someone in that ball of flame. He is falling so fast through the atmosphere that he is on fire.

No one is saying Tyrael is evil. But if you want some basis of speculation, it's speculated that shattering the corrupt worldstone could've caused a slight shift in his affiliation. Either just being in close vicinity to it, or perhaps getting hit by a shard... Like I said, speculation.
I for one don't think he's evil. I think the Council is fed up with his shit, and have turned to Imperius. It's either Tyrael falling from Heaven after a bad run-in with Imperius, or Imperius himself going down to Sanctuary to stir shit up.
