Yes, diablo's pot spam is terrible.
But theres so many ways to fix it.
They choose the orb system - because it brings random situations.
Different from what chess players think, a luck factor brings strategy.
Thats why poker rock so much.
Yeah but, its not magic! ROFL.
Everything you said just became irrelevant.
Also, !!MAGIC!! Its about the only thing you EVER say.
Why not make a template of your magic argument? You can use it in each and every thread you fail at. Pfft, just make it your sig, you wouldn't even have to copy and paste then, just type in ".................." which is exactly what i'm thinking when reading any of your posts.
And seriously, anyone explaining anything that doesn't make sense, and i mean "dumb fuck mechanic which then people defend however you look at it" in a fantasy world (or, whatever) a la Diablo with "magic" is about 99.999% more close minded then i could ever be, even if i tried my hardest at being close minded.
Man, you're a dumb troll, aren't ya? Even for a troll, slapping your slipshod cognition is hard to resist.
"Yeah but, its not magic! ROFL." ~AKA~ "oh boo hoo, I can't refute his argument because my head is eeemmmpttttyyyyy!"
Right. So, the fantasy world of Diablo is not super natural huh? Is that really what you think? I double dare you to give me one example in any science book of something super natural. Yea, that's what I thought. It doesn't need to be called "magic", there are plenty of synonyms, just take your pick (PROTIP: Thesaurus). Still doesn't change the fact that you're wrong. And possibly a trisomite. I'm glad ignorance is bliss for you, buddy.
I'm pretty sure NOT accepting others views is being close minded. So learn to use a dictionary too while you're at it. I never said health globes made a lot of sense right off. But I'm willing to "accept" the views of the people making the game, understand their reasoning behind putting it in and realizing it has a real purpose, as well as give an explanation for it (although a very simple one).
And being a predictable little tike, I know you're going to do the whole "I'M STILL RIGHT BECAUSE I SAY I AM!" argument, so just get it over with or throw in your towel. "even if i tried my hardest at being close minded" Trust me, you don't have to try TOO hard.
A constant high health regen, or shield regen similar to halo with wells interspersed throughout the level would work just as well for adding the strategy back in. And it would take the reliance on a random generator away. You would still have to stun things, run away to regen some more health...use all those skills thought to be worthless in D2...but you just wouldn't have to pray anymore because you are in control of things.
Thats never going to happen, i can pretty much garantue you that you won't ever use tactics like that. On paper it sounds good, in practice its gonna be nothing but the usual but then with randomly getting healed from orbs dropping. Its a crappy system, it doesn't bring anything new or innovative or better then potion spamming to the table.
@ Uber Dudditz or whatever: No, being ignorant and not being able to argue anything without the use of moronic excuses like "its magic" is being close minded.
You think "being positive" regardless of sense or "accepting other views" like some brainless fungus, requiring you to be EXTREMELY stupid and naive, to be "open minded". You simply don't even understand the concept of being "open minded".
And just to make you look more stupid, that is if you again refuse or fail to answer my question, where did you get it in your head (?) that the health blobs randomly pooping out of enemies that bite the dust have anything to do with being magic? Actually, never mind, i know you won't be able to answer me with anything more then "why r u so bein closed mindedned, gah ):".
Yea, not even going to touch on your attempt at vocab. If you don't own a dictionary, look it up online.
Once again, your narrow point of view and ego are making you think your way is the only way of thinking. Nice one. I'm not feeding that troll.
But anyway, I will once again try answering your question with a question of my own.
How do you think a witch doctor can summon a wall of zombies, or a paladin can conjure up a ethereal hammer to fly around him, or a sorc can do... well anything she does, or how a demon can supernaturally corrupt the landscape he passes through, or be bound within a soulstone by magi? There's a special word for it... come on, I know you can do it! Hint: Just like health globes, It's all unexplainable by science, mystical. Heck, even a synonym for it would still be acceptable.
And if you can't really, then I'd advise you to go get your chromosome count checked, I'm pretty sure there's a 3rd copy on at least one of them.
Potion spamming was a flaw of Diablo 2. No one can genuinely deny that they don't think so and that the potion system was perfect.
Sure the orbs are a bit uninspired and maybe a little lame, but you have to give Blizzard credit for trying.
I thought it was perfect, healing whenever you want is a good system as it keeps things fast and in no way irritating. If you died it was your fault and not the games fault.
Honestly what was wrong with it, I liked random spikes in difficulty; it kept the godlike characters yet threw difficulty at you to overcome. The definition of d2 as I see it. Instead we get enemies who slowly whittle you down and debuff you while you pray for an orb, it may as well be a mmorpg at that rate.
Anyways I cant wait for starcraft 2 now, with blizzards new inventive ideas were gonna end out with something slow paced where your units take longer to kill which apparently creates more "strategy" in all your guy's eyes.

Over confidence is the rot.
