I've also got to add, a lot of the smaller subtle events added significantly to the overall experience for me.
The events triggered by the Siegebreaker Assault Beast throughout the stage added to the anticipation. The rocks came falling from the ceiling, breaking the bridge, the massive shadowy figure in the distance, "Get away from the walls!" an' even the summoning of the Thousand Pounder just added to the intensity of the stage. The attention to detail is much appreciated an' adds to the enjoyment, for me at least.
All of it was great, where to start. One of the biggest was the large horde of minions you have to fight (ala on the bridge in the first part and after you beat the seige fellow). Epic battles are epic.
Uggh, I can't believe that some people think the WD is the best thing they saw... well, I guess it takes all kinds.
For me definately NOT the WD, but perhaps Decard Cain!?!
just kidding. DC is OK, but I never stop to listen.
The best was the effects on the weapons... the glowing frost, shooting electric, and halo of flame... bummer that these are so rare on sorceress weapons. I'm eager to find out what a rune word will do.
I liked the armor on the Barb, but am slightly worried that we'll have very little control over the look of our characters. Will every Sorceress be a slut? Note that there is a graphic art pic of what appears to be the Sorceress... straight out of a comic book with boob job breasts and all. Not that I mind, but I do think it is a little unfair if the Barb and WD are as sexy as the male characters get. I don't think I want Baldur's level of control of look, but I kind of liked the idea that each character could wear the same armor (strength providing) in D2. If we can't do that in D3, what will the graphics artists give us?
I digress. The 3-D was cool, as were the cultists and the zombie wall. It was a little weird though seeing dead bodies slowly fade out to nothingness. And I hope that we can either turn the monster life bars off or they put them at the top of the screen. I found them to be rather distracting.
OK. I changed my mind. The weapons were cool, as are the other things I mentioned, but what I thought was most unique was the Siegebreaker Assault Beast biting the head off of the character in the last scene... it was the female witchdoctor that got decapitated right? Unique deaths of player characters, at least when fighting the bosses, would be sweet.
Um, can you tell I usually don't play hardcore characters...
