I've been actively avoiding the Diablo series for several years now. I have many friends who play it, some seemingly religiously, and knew I'd get hooked. For the sake of my social life I stayed away. Diablo III was what finally made me succumb to the game. Reading the books, getting associated with the lore, playing D2 rigorously now - so in essence, I already knew I was going to play D3 prior to having any D2 experience.
Reports last week have stated D2 sales have suddenly jumped due to the anticipation of D3; topping sales charts. So it seems D3 is attracting, both, people with prior exposure to the Diablo title an' fresh meat alike.
While I'm not much of a fan of floating numbers in hack n' slash action games it's not something I can't or won't get used to. Floating combat numbers is a vital tool in measuring damage output, but in most cases it's an eyesore. I wouldn't worry too much 'bout it though, there will most definitely be a toggle for the feature.
I've also got to add, a lot of the smaller subtle events added significantly to the overall experience for me.
The events triggered by the Siegebreaker Assault Beast throughout the stage added to the anticipation. The rocks came falling from the ceiling, breaking the bridge, the massive shadowy figure in the distance, "Get away from the walls!" an' even the summoning of the Thousand Pounder just added to the intensity of the stage. The attention to detail is much appreciated an' adds to the enjoyment, for me at least.
See, that's what i don't get, it's a freaking female in a VIDEO GAME. How can someone find anything sexy about a video game character no matter how it's made... it's just beyond me.
Aye, I see where you're comin' from.
It really does vary depending on the individual. I remember back during my school days, my friends thought Lara Croft was hot. All I saw was a fugly polygonal mess... But you show me one of Akiman's illustrations of Chun-Li an' I'd just melt away.

Only if the barbarian has a one-hit kill ball breaker attack and the witch doctor can cast a crabs swarm to distract opponents.
Hahaha.
Anywho, I'm just starting to scratch the surface with the lore of Diablo.
Playing the games, reading the books, but as for this question, imo, it really depends on which demons sexually reproduce. If the demon in question is supposed to have 'em then they should have 'em. Put them in the game an' make it a weakspot (lol). It won't be all that pretty, an' my eyes will shun me for saying so, but if it's canon then put it in the game.
Just personal preference, man. Guys have their own reasons; my reason is simple. I love women an' I'd rather have a dead sexy female avatar than a dood. My wife totally understands my stance on this, hahah. Though, ironically, I plan on playing a male Barbarian in D3. The male Barbarian is just too badass to roll a female.
In regards to the female Barbarian, I think the conceptual art is fitting for the class granted the primitive nature of Barbarians throughout lower fantasy. Though, I wouldn't complain if they added a bit more eyecandy, or made the character easier on the eyes (?). Frank Cho's rendition of Shanna the She-Devil would be perfect, imho.
Havin' an Auction House would be very interesting...
I can see a few pros an' cons if an AH were to be implemented. Personally, i'd opt to keep it out of Diablo an' keep swapping strictly via trading. AH grants easy access to items; items that should normally be obtained through hard work an' dedication. Just my own personal preference, though.
