So I finally started playing through the Wizard in the beta and I'm mad confused about weapon choices. I know the spells are based off of weapon damage, but in general it seems like using a melee weapon seems to out DPS wand&orb? Maybe it's because I don't have a good sample size but can anyone explain the weapon selections for the wizard (based on what we know so far of course)
I suspect the Random Magic Properties that Wands/Orbs can have will be more beneficial to wizards. Things like increased AP regeneration, maybe even "Spells cost [1-5] less AP to cast" or, "Gain [1-5] AP per hit"
yeah, at the lower levels its all straight dmg, but once you get higher you will start seeing stats and affixes on wands and orbs that are more beneficial like +int

There is no AP regeneration affix, only +AP on crit.
Which at low levels with 5% crit is utterly worthless.
