What's a realistic cap/goal for greater rifts for a semi-casual barbarian this season?
what I mean by semi-casual is I am not paragon 2000 like all the guides out there, more like paragon 700-800. I wont have a level 90 gem on every slot and every ancient (more like level 70 maybe 80 if I push it) and I'm not talking about if I fish for the perfect rift I might be able to clear this difficulty 1 in 10 tries. I'm talking about if I open a GR at this level, I have a fairly decent (50-75%) chance of beating it.
Anyone in my situation have a number they think is doable? I'm currently pushing GR 70 with leap quakes and think I might get to 80 by end of season if I perfect my gear.
I was like 680 Paragon playing Seismic Slam build with Earth set, did my 70 rift solo for the conquest and doing 74 comfortably in a 3man group with a charge barb + demon hunter (which is not a very optimal group setup at all). My gems are 75 now but were 70 when I did my 70 solo rift. FWIW my spec is not a popular or played spec, my gear is not optimised and I don't have the bonus stats you can get from consuming legendary gems..
So It's safe to say you can go pretty far with a lot of builds, without needing excessive paragons, high level gems or cookie cutter leaderboard builds. I can go above 80 solo with my build eventually if I'm fortunate to get ancient pieces and continue to level paragon.
If you play charge barb then you can go much further, no idea bout boulder toss + earth, tried it and didn't like it.. It's more popular than Seismic Slam, perhaps better.
Been a realist you're going to probably be over 700 - 800 paragon by the end of the season, this seasons paragon is sky rocketing.
Max you can push out with Leap Quake is 85 maybe 88 if geared & have great rolls, you only need 60 - 70 gems in your gear for a solid amount of STR which currently isn't to hard to get onto anyways.
So been real you could probably push a high rift pretty easy 80 is a real goal you could even say 85 by the end of the season who knows what paragons will be. I'm honestly thinking some people will be in the 3K, I'm sure you'll go alright hardest part is just lasting the whole season and actually committing to it.
Honestly, use leap quake to gear your Raekor to be honest. Every single BARB in the top 1000 will probably be one without the odd Leap Quake.

But that's the hole thing... Raekor is fun for speed runs but watching chainer's videos on how to push grift levels... I'm not buying a new mouse to custom program animation canceling... And I'm not going to phish grifts hoping that I luck out and hit a poison boss, that's just not a fun way to play to me. Leap quake prolly isn't as strong but I feel it's more level, more casual.

Which this is very true, neither am I doing either of these things. But just seems like Raekor will be the way to play if you want to be able to push anything much higher which is sad.
The whole fishing for the perfect rift as well annoys me but anyways, guess it's what you have to do.

I personally have grift 66 on a comfortable farm whilst pushing 71. I also use leapquake. I'm ~730P atm.
