Update: (10:06 p.m. PDT) The beta is available and we're slowly increasing concurrency caps to monitor stability. You may see an error when attempting to log in because the servers are full due to the lowered cap. We appreciate your patience and ask that you continue attempting to log in. (Source)
Beta Server Maintenance (Read Updates at top)
Blizzard will be temporarily closing the beta server at 8:00 a.m. PDT to do some maintenance. After completed, they will be slowly letting players back in.
We're preparing to bring down the Diablo III beta at 8:00 a.m. PDT to quickly address an issue, and will be gradually increasing the amount of players allowed on after it's complete. This may result in an Error 37 while attempting to log in, and we recommend that you keep trying. Thank you for your patience.

Yeah, I'm enjoying myself and all. But this constant sense of self-entitlement is sickening. Why had they "better" put them up for another week? Because this was something that was promised to us?
They set up a test for server stability and the like. Yes, we're guinea pigs in this, but perfectly able guinea pigs who can use our own free will to decide whether or not we participate. If this -video game- is something that you feel like you're owed, then you ought to reexamine your life, your priorities, and the things you stress about.
This was never for our benefit, but I'm sure they're happy many of us are enjoying it. I hope that the many people who post on forums demanding that video companies give them free stuff find the means to grow up someday. But I have my doubts it will ever happen.
They also warned everyone that there would likely be server issues and difficulties getting in. Again, we weren't promised anything, other than there would be an open beta that was designed for stress testing. And they have successfully stress tested the servers. People act like stress tests shouldn't affect the servers, but that's their purpose. The company wants to push the server beyond the limit so they can prepare for worst case scenarios for when the game is actually live and you are actually a paying customer.
And no one should whine about pre-ordering or the Annual Pass. You got, and will get precisely the item you paid for upon making that decisions. I see nothing about open betas or guaranteed DIII betas.
Im just glad I get to play the beta for a few hours before release! I was blown away by the complaints and petty complaints on the official forums.. This game is everything I have been waiting for and more. Im an old school Diablo fan (and big lurker here.. ) and I think the game is a perfect update to the franchise. Yes there is alot of differences in the game systems and what not, but the general mood is there. I remember when I was young playing diablo 1 it scared the crap out of me. The game is creepy, and they nailed it. Blizzard you dont owe us anything. Thanks for giving us the chance to play this before release.
I dont get it. I was in for a few minutes. got up to grab a snack, came back logged out. went to log in and now all i get is error 34200. Looks like its not just me though.
I'm just happy we got to pre-play at all! NO COMPLAINTS!!! The only things I'm missing are things I know they purposefully left out of the beta...difficulties, identification, etc. Everything I've seen is just an incredible advancement without changing what d2 was...Yet another blizzard epic.
How happy are the people who have been waiting for this weekend lmao
well all things considered im rather grateful. I got my CE preordered, game is live in 23 days, just happy i got a (apparently small) chance to beta it a little bit instead of having to wait till the 15th.
though, i think I have been dropped and waiting to get back in more then actually in the game at this point.

Second!!
Even if they don't carry over Betamaxed or Overachiever, I'll still have my pretty screenshot with 100%'s~
edit: just now
Bashiok
@BashiokA couple of the servers weren't playing too nice so we've brought them down. You'll likely be seeing a 34200 error.
EDIT: btw, getting error 33 now again
though, i think I have been dropped and waiting to get back in more then actually in the game at this point.
