First 15 minutes, I was thinking "boy, I'm in for a treat". At the 16th minute, it was like finding out Santa wasn't real. The moment Thor sets foot on Earth, the entire movie takes a nose-dive, not to mention the formulaic structure of the entire movie. The special effects were great, I'll give them that, but I was massively disappointed in the movie, despite the good reviews it got (which baffles me). Hell, my brother who was nagging me for a week to go watch it fell asleep halfway through it. He literally fell asleep. I also find it very annoying that they chose an, no homo, Adonis-like guy to play a character that we're all supposed to root for. Now, we all know I'm ridiculously handsome, but still, what's up with all the movies today hiring plastic-y women and steroid infused Scandinavian/pure Aryan guys as their titular characters? Some of the actors were superb, but some were a pain to watch. Overall, it was a disappointment.
Oh, and what the fuck is up with this bullshit 3D trend when all it does is hurt your eyes and has absolutely no depth or meaning to it? Avatar nailed the 3D thing spot on (nevermind the fact that it was an atrocious movie). All these new 3D movies just want the extra cash whilst ruining the movie by turning it into 3D after it's finished, rather than shooting it in 3D to begin with.
I pegged it for crap from the beginning. And as you said, since Avatar, there has been no movie in 3D worth seeing.

It's not that big a difference here. It's less than 50 cents more (the glasses cost 1$, but you get that back if you return them in one piece), but I'm morally opposed to the whole institution.
Me and my ancestors would be pretty offended too if say a slave is ever portrayed by a white guy in a movie one day.
Like wft. This shit gotta be copyrighted or something. Just doesn't feel real, ya know.
As a scandinavian, it sort of pisses me off that they chose a colored man to play the role of a nordic god, c'mon, wtf.
I know it's marvel and not completely accurate, but still, even if they are a alien race, the chance that they would look exactly like us humans AND have different races, also exactly like us, is about the same chance is if you threw a needle a 1000 feet up in the air and then it landed on its pin...in the hole of another sowing-needle... with a smaller hole then the first needle.
I know people are probably going to think that I'm a racist, I am not. I just think it's pretty bad how they have to be so politically correct about everything, better that then historically correct?
I feel offended for my ancestors.
I thought the black guy was prerty bad ass! lol :P.

I thought the movie was alright overall. It was mostly fun to watch and the fighting scenes were fun.
The main thing that I didn't like was the character of Loki.
I just couldn't understand his motives. Was his goal to become king, be Thor's equal, get his father's respect? I just don't see how he thought destroying the frost giants would help achieve any of those. He would have been king if he let the frost giant kill Odin and it would not achieve his fathers respect since Odin banished Thor to earth for trying to kill the frost giants himself.
I was also not a fan of the random black guy in Asgard. He just seemed really out of place. And they portrayed him as one of the biggest badasses around, and he pretty much did nothing.
Yeah sometimes movie directors go a bit too far with their creative license. But they probably did it so that god stood out, or possibly the irony thing.
What really puts me off is this whole alien spin they're putting on it. Heaven forbid they stay true to the comics and maybe offend a small minority of people.
"Guest" saying that they should've casted a white man to play Heimdall isn't particularly racist, but I don't think people should get too caught up on that fact.
I thought the movie was ok. I've never read a Thor comic book so I was just able to accept everything as is. The one scene I hated started when they evacuated that small town and the whole fight scene that took place, it just seemed really cheesy.
I am curious about the scene after the credits, this may contain spoilers. Does anyone know exactly what that cube was in that suitcase? Maybe something that could be used to reach Thor?

Scouter Vegeta reads this level of bullshit to be way over one million.
Because you know, it's the color of the skin that gives a person their character. Totally.
Getting offended over skin color that deals with some fictional crap that talks about other fictional crap qualifies you as closeted racist.

How you act on it is what matters, and you won't discover that from talking about skin colors in a movie. Stop throwing around accusations, please.

Read at your own risk.
Fixed.
