... on a table and told me, "you can have only one of these. The first album is the best album by one of the best Thrash metal bands of all time. The second one, however, is some of the best Blackened Death Metal you'll ever hear."
I'd pick the second one anytime. What did this accomplish? I dunno, it might've pissed Mephy off though. Or it might've helped him out because The Wretched End is actually a really good band and I think he could dig it since he likes Behemoth and these guys take a lot of cues from them.

I think metallica is prerty awesome. I also really like some of Dio's songs. I dont remember if I mentioned Puddle of Mudd in my original post either. I like some of there songs as well.

But Metallica also has it's cons, like almost any band. Extremely good untill ...And Justice For All (although a little bass flaws), changing style in the 90's, epic fail album St. Anger... etc. Not the same as before. Megadeth also got it's own pros and cons... Rust In Peace is epic (listen to it in FLAC and you'll see) but Risk... no comments.
Anybody heard of Iraqi thrash metal band Acrassicauda? They released an EP this year. Pretty good stuff with potential.

Believe it or not, I've actually listened to that EP and I really liked it. Has a really good Motorhead appeal to it, it's just amazing. I'm not that fond of the vocals, but they're still good for what they're doing and what they're doing is really good.
There's this Iranian band called Qutin. If Dimmu Borgir and Megadeth had a lovechild, it would be Qutin, no doubt about it.
Well it's nothing I'd care to get into. No point in arguing why I think a band is overrated since we all have our own tastes.
They pretty much reinvented Thrash Metal, put out arguably the best 4 Thrash Metal albums ever, and keep making good music to this day. It's not a matter of opinion, it's a matter of how much good impact they have had on the genre since they started, and that alone merits all the worship that they get.

Even comparing ...And Justice For All with that is ridiculous.

Kill'em All, ...And Justice For All, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, and Metallica re fucking great albums. St. Anger is utter shit. Load and Reload aren't that bad. Death Magnetic is pretty fucking solid. Give me a band that has been around as long as Metallica, and are still putting out quality songs and quality albums on par with Death Magnetic. It's not their best album, but it's better than any of the Metal being produced today on the commercial market.
The riffs, composition, lyrics, music, and pretty much everything about Metallica's music in their first 4 albums, and even their 5th, is unbridled bar perhaps Megadeth's. Not one band can compete. That's why they're my favorite band. Those moronic teenagers at Hot Topic, and those posers who say they're Metallica's biggest fans while listening to Lady Gay Gay on the side are the ones ruining the general picture. Metallica is pretty much a household name for a fucking reason. They're not overrated in any sense of the word. They're pretty justified. Overrated would mean that they clean out at every Grammy event, with an entire crowd liking them for all the wrong reasons, and placing them on a pedestal when they don't really deserve it. They do, if ever put up on one.
Even comparing ...And Justice For All with that is ridiculous.
The whole point of my argument is that, given my interests, I wouldn't pick Metallica over The Wretched End. The whole analogy is like saying, "you can either have an apple or a banana. The apple is good in it's own respect, but the banana is also pretty good."
It's hard to compare apples and bananas, which is why I chose not to.
And boom goes the dynamite.

Im going to list most of the bands that were considred as my favorite somewhere in the last 6 years of my life or so.
Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Foriegner, Nirvana, Linkin Park, System of a down, CKY, The Used, Billy Talent, Useless ID, HIM, Wu Tang Clan, 2Pac and the Outlawz, D12, Infamous Mob, N.W.A, G Unit, Astral Projection, 1200 Micrograms, Daft Punk, Massive Attack, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, August Burns Red, Raadiohead.
These are all the bands. Now for individual artists, the list goes on and on mainly because im a fan of many rappers and DJ's that are not a part of a band.
I used to listen to them alot when i was younger. Its a good band and i dont care if people think they are gay. Oh and by the way HIM's drummer sucks balls xD

EDIT: Still have to figure out how to quote correctly with names.
Heh, i never heard him like this before. His role in most of HIM's songs is too simple and thats why i had the impression he sucks. Thanks for the link.

Hmm... fine. I hardly compare anybody to Metallica anyway, they drift on and off my radar, so even if I wanted to, I probably wouldn't bother.

Guess who's drumming. He definitely holds back in HIM, but he functions well in Metal.

Can't blame you, I find that the drums kind of get lost in the overall soundscape unless special emphasis is put on them.
I hate the way you cling to ignorance and pass it off as innocence
Go ahead and throw these guys on my list... they are amazing
