Something just clicked with me when I read the "Level Expansion" paragraph... I have read in the past that they want each level to feel "big" "powerful" "important" etc., which is why there's 60 level compared to 99. But, don't you get all your skills by level 30?!? So how exactly do levels beyond 30 feel "big, powerful, or important"? You aren't adding any new skills, or any (place-able) stats. Sure you're finding new runes; but if you farm enough in normal you will be able to get all the runes you need (low level runes at least). Seems to me like the level cap should be 30 since the excitement of getting cool new stuff ends there.
Its not like D2 didn't stop getting new skills after level 25...
What I'm wondering, is how exactly they'll scale the levels. Would they change the level caps to Normal, Nightmare, and Hell to compensate for the newer Acts? That'd be kind of weird, being a higher level and just starting a certain difficulty or being a lower level and not being able to do a certain difficulty.
But I guess by then it'd only matter for any alts we'd make, cuz everyone will be in Hell by the time an xpac gets released.
You stopped getting new (or useable) skills around 30 though in D2. Even with synergies, I was putting one point into prereqs and dumping everything into the skills of that tree. There would be a light dusting of points in other trees (depending on the build, of course) but effectively, my character would have his entire arsenal by 30. The build might not be done until 80, but the play style wasn't any different, just that the spells were more effective.
Which sounds identical this D3. Only, they chose to customization in a different area, and I don't have to put pointless skill points into things I will never use. (Necro Teeth)
Oh yeah, I forgot about the progression of the item tiers. I suppose that is SOMETHING.
But IDK -- to me it really really feels like that have watered down the importance of nightmare and hell in D3. At least in D2, nightmare and hell you were continually adding new skills points and stats, which directly made you stronger... and this was ON TOP OF finding new gear. That feeling lasted until you hit the 80's where stats and skill points started to have less impact. Now in D3, the only things nightmare and hell is good for is getting the new gear; but that gear will soon be replaced (trashed/salvaged) once you start finding stuff in inferno.
So I guess what I'm saying is: The "YAY!" feeling of leveling in D2 stopped in the 80's ; but now in D3 it stops at 30. I hope they can throw some more exciting "level bonuses" from 30-60.

but what we have to remeber, we wernt really adding anything they we arnt now...
Stats... we added stam, thats it...
now its being auto still, just by itself...
Before we all we did was add talents to 6 or so skills to make 2 a little more powerfull
now all 6 of the spells become powerful with a level
So the same power is getting there... we just dont have to click something. But Like I said, I do fully understand where your coming from... I just dont want to knock it until I try it I guess =P
I don't think that's true. Doesn't it come down to your weapon? So, if you're lvl 60, but have a Rusty Dagger, your skills will be crap, even though you're max level. That's a bad thing.
No, any green text on skills change, aka skills will do more weapon dmg, cost less mana/ more range as you level where you see that.
"According to the Korean branch of Blizzard there’s no indication that something is wrong with the game" Yeah right, the rating board is just that childish and wants to be a brat. Blizzard expect the board to capitule under the media pressure, and what it is they want is still unknown, if I'd know better I'd say it has nothing to do with real money aunction house but the recent move from Blizzard of "total brand control", aka ruining the e-sport Korean scene.
