If it's the 5th most used and only .1%, doesn't that mean that the top 4 builds are used by the remaining 99.9%? So 4 builds used by everyone=cookie cutter...
Or was he trying to mean that the remaining 99.9% of builds are all below a .1% use percentage and that there r hundreds of builds below .1% that add up to the 99% that aren't in the top 5?

Dear God I hope you're wrong. The ONLY reason I rerolled from my Hell Wizard to a Demon Hunter was because of Smokescreen...Quote from Deathbyaccident
You might also want to add Smoke Screen on Demon hunter, its been nerfed from 3 sec with rune to about 1-2 sec with rune. The tooltip havent been changed tho. But I counted secs and its less now.
In Hell/Inferno even with Smokescreen+Preparation, it isn't enough to survive as a Demon Hunter. Just because it's op in Normal/Nightmare is no reason to nerf something... And why are people complaining about Wizards taking hits? Every class should have the ability to be equally tanky, this game is meant to be soloable by ANY class if people have forgotten this...
As it stands, EVERY class, even built pure tanky, gets 1 or 2shot in Inferno. I hope they don't nerf Demon Hunter so much that I'm forced to go back to my Wizard... I was planning on getting +20 Max Discipline gear to make my Smokescreen (and with Preparation) nearly 100% up time in Inferno. But if they reduce the duration by 1/3, that could be a significant wrench in my plans...
I mainly switched from Wiz->DH because Smokescreen>Diamond Skin. One is invulnerable, other is huge-hp shield. In Inferno, hp, regardless of how high, is gone in seconds, if not sooner... -.- -

Have you not been paying attention to what Blizz has said? Your examples are wrong, rather they should be:Quote from ansl
This all comes down to the following - will the time spent killing special mobs give enough + MF% to ensure a reward larger than that attained by simply rushing the same boss over and over?
Example:
4 people spend 1 hour killing special mobs and then the final boss. This gives them an overall 200% MF at the final boss - with buffs accounting for 40% out of the total 200%.
4 people speed towards a boss, disregarding the special mobs. This is done in a total of 20 min. and have a total normal MF of 160% at the final boss.
The second scenario is the best as they achieve a larger amount of MF buff in shorter time. They do however miss out on the drops from the special mobs.
Will be interesting to see how Blizz balances this... Hmm..
Would it be better to run around looking for special mobs, and keep killing special mobs with the buff from the previous special mobs
or
Would it be better to run around looking for special mobs, and once you've gotten enough of the buff go kill a boss.
Those special mobs give better items at higher droprates than bosses, so rushing a boss will NEVER be the best choice. But they didn't want bosses to be pointless, so they gave us this buff. -

I think it should kick in after completing Nightmare mode. There were a lot of people who played Diablo II for months-years and NEVER reached above level 80, let alone 99. I assume the same insanely long gruelling leveling up process holds true for Diablo III's Hell difficulty.
So why introduce this gameplay-affecting mechanic only at the end, where most won't reach for months-years?
Because it being said by Blizz, that when you'll finish hell, you'll be 60. So then you'll start to farm or try inferno for the best gear. This will be implented for make that last part of the game (farming) more interesting, not to help find better gear while you lvl up.
I for one, never finished Hell in Diablo II. I was level 68, had fairly good gear, and the farthest I got was Act II Hell before my account got deleted... (I got a virus, restarted comp, had to reinstall Diablo II, but had lost my cd-key... And Blizz deleted accounts if they were inactive for 90days) Suffice to say, the worst time of my entire life...
It was so long ago, 11 years, that I don't remember how long I even played... Not sure if it was months, a year, or longer. But getting past level 70 would take hours of running Cow Level just for a couple %... >_<
I guess Blizzard will make it easier to level up to 60 for those casuals... And Inferno will be the "Hell" of Diablo II.
I may have never finished Hell in Diablo II, but it is still my favorite game of all time, and it had the most significant impact on who I am more than anything else in this world. I view it as a near religious entity, and Deckard Cain is like a grandfather to me... -

Finally, after over a decade, I shall venture forth back into Sanctuary.
Now if only I knew a place to pre-order the Collector's Edition, because I've waited many years for this game I'll be damned if I don't buy the Collector's Edition xD
Too bad CE doesn't get midmight access to game <_< Hopefully Gamestop does a Midnight Release Event or something, and if I can't pre-order the CE, somebodies going to die MUHUHAHAHAHA!!! -

Yes the Mystic and enchanting IS what Gem/Sockets USED to be, but Gems no longer add useful/fun stats. All they do is add vitality or some other useless stat...
The Mystic had what was the flavor and most important aspect of what Gems/Sockets used to have... +ELEMENTAL DAMAGE, AND LIFESTEAL modifications. Now that those are gone, I shudder to think of the LACK of character customization this game is headed towards... >_< -

Its not like D2 didn't stop getting new skills after level 25...Quote from Pit Stains
Something just clicked with me when I read the "Level Expansion" paragraph... I have read in the past that they want each level to feel "big" "powerful" "important" etc., which is why there's 60 level compared to 99. But, don't you get all your skills by level 30?!? So how exactly do levels beyond 30 feel "big, powerful, or important"? You aren't adding any new skills, or any (place-able) stats. Sure you're finding new runes; but if you farm enough in normal you will be able to get all the runes you need (low level runes at least). Seems to me like the level cap should be 30 since the excitement of getting cool new stuff ends there.
What I'm wondering, is how exactly they'll scale the levels. Would they change the level caps to Normal, Nightmare, and Hell to compensate for the newer Acts? That'd be kind of weird, being a higher level and just starting a certain difficulty or being a lower level and not being able to do a certain difficulty.
But I guess by then it'd only matter for any alts we'd make, cuz everyone will be in Hell by the time an xpac gets released. -

Ugh... They nerfed the hell out of my favorite Runeskill... >_<Quote from Molster
Battle Rage (Alabaster Rune) now gives your critical hits a chance to cause an explosion of blood dealing 21% weapon damage instead of a 100% chance.
From a 100% chance down to something that's possibly really low... Now even if I manage to get 100% crit, it wouldn't be any good.... /f**k! -

Nov 29, 2011Sheriff posted a message on Diablo 3 Jeweler PreviewThe reason Gems seem so bland, is because most of the Gem/Rune effects have been moved over to Enchantments instead. So instead of the original Ruby +fire damage or Skull leech, you'd get that enchant on your items. And that leaves Gems as a just a simple way to socket in some extra stats. And the Helm sockets allow for some uniqueness...Posted in: News
I'd probably go with +exp. In a way all of the Helm Gems have the same end result, albeit in a different way. They all ultimately lead to extra Gold or gained time(time efficiency/time is money):
Experience: You level up faster, thus getting access to higher level areas that drop more gold or have better items you can sell.
Gold: You get more gold.
Magic Find: Increases chances of getting better items to make more gold.
Vitality: You survive more, thus can continue getting gold.
And more gold also = a stronger character, thus you level faster as a result. In the end +exp seems the best choice, and +life the worst imo... -

Since the gear is pretty much the same, I just got new weapons and switched a couple gear pieces around. I want to make sure I didn't miss anything important. Maybe I don't have enough movement speed or aspd?
Thanks for any tips/suggestions ^.^
PS. Profile is in signature.

Allows for more freedom in builds, and might make some classes actually viable *cough* DH *cough*.
I think by "some assembly required" it's gonna be a recipe similar to the Staff of Herding (Pony Level.)
I just hope they address Monk's Spirit issues.

Imo most important stat for 2h weapon: Dps, Lifesteal, Critical Damage, Socket.
0
That's my profile. I do use Leap and Ancient Spear. I'm going to change Battle Rage to War Cry-Impunity, and probably take Nerves of Steel instead of Bloodthirst.
Which items should I focus on upgrading first?
0
I just started Inferno, and I have 25k HP, like 600 Resists, 34% Crit, 272% Crit Damage, 11% Lifesteal, 30k dps, and around 57% reduction from Armor.
Will I be okay for Act III, or do I need more HP? I find that usually surviving comes down to can your Rend out heal the Rare/Elite's damage, or if you manage to Rend before getting cc'd...
0
I have +272% crit dmg, yet the difference between my critical/non-critical Rend ticks appears to be 3k (8k, 11k, if I recall correctly)

Granted it was over 11 years ago, and my long-term memory is quite wretched, but I remember leveling taking a really long time in Diablo 2.
(Though by a "WHOLE day", I meant more like 4 runs. I was exaggerating.. xD)

One nasty pack of Arcane Enchanted + Waller/Jailer, and it's goodbye hours of your life >_<
My good sir, you speak great wisdom... I realize the error of my thinking now. xD

But yeah, at the rate I play, I'll probably never get beyond Paragon 40 xD

Getting 99 in D2 took EONS! You could be farming Hell Cow Level for a WHOLE day, and only go from level 77-78... And that was as an op Sorc.
Blizz needs to either make Paragon exp more, or give us another 100 Paragon levels!
Because it's not fun, unless there is an impossible goal to strive towards for years.
