Let it be known that April 1st, 2009 is the day in which we all collectively rejoiced, for today is the day in which we learned about our new favorite character class for Diablo 3: The Archivist. Thank you Blizzard!
"Out of the darkened studies of Westmarch emerges the archivist, Diablo III's newest playable class. Proving once and for all that the pen is indeed mightier than the sword, the archivist fights not only to save Sanctuary's future, but its past as well.
To find out more, visit the brand-new archivist information page to read the latest excerpt from the journal of Abd al-Hazir and see some of the archivist's powers in action.
We've also expanded the media galleries with one new piece of artwork and two new screenshots."
Here's the impressive concept art for this new character who truly believes the pen is mightier than the sword!
These new screenshots showcase the Archivist's amazing "Book Vision" abilities along with his radial dialogue tree showing how he can outwit just about anybody in a conversation!
Oh god, the move animations are HILARIOUS.
LOL the archivist dies every time.
Blizzard you're awesome.
I certainly hope there will be a reference to the moves "Lorenado, Quest Bolt, and Shush." Quite entertaining, and I can only hope to see an easter-egg appear in the game.
Look at both of the IN GAME screenshots. The character(when zoomed in) is african skin toned,(you can tell by his head and hands) and bald headed. WHICH MEANS for the images, its the WD in different armor. The only things that are different is the ONE piece of concept art(wow not out of the way for a joke) and the animation of the supposed character, which can easily be nothing or even an NPC such as Abd al-Hazir.
EDIT: and especially after reading the whole dialog tree, one of his responses is "I am not a wizard" wow like that convinces us and isnt obvious. Plus, his "mana" is a brain surrounded by liquid.... even if it is his "intillectual" abilities he would still require mana to use some spells.

Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.
They should have put in a "Lecture" power. He could just go on and on about who knows what until, unable to take it anymore, monsters begin killing themselves in great and violent ways! It would be the ultimate power.

Reminds me of college...
Haha that would be awesome!
But I still thought the videos were pretty funny. Too bad it wasn't something real. I'm dying for some legitimate videos.
 for Blizzard!
"In my day there were no colors." That one made me laugh.

"A wizard is never late Frodo Baggins. Nor is he early.
He arrives precisely when he means to."
"Losers always whine about their best, winners go home and Fvck the prom queen."
The phrases on the Book Vision dialogue tree are hilarious, I also love the consistent "hmmmm" drop in the videos...Blizzard has such a great sense of humor

"Honestly, if Blizzard has the man power, the rights to a franchise that broke all kind of game selling records and a loyal fan base of a couple million that WANT them to make a Diablo 3, and will buy the game why wouldn’t they?"
Jesus Christ monkeyballs, they're reviving Blackthrorne :D.
I never did finish that game... damn goblins always owned me from across the gaps
Archivist looks like a good concept too, finally something completely new :D. Will have to read up on this one !
Sweet fucking jesus, just remembered that it's April 1st :/.
Dumbass moment right there lol.
Was overjoyed for a second there, then complete and utter sadness :(.
But hey, we'll get the next character soon enough :D.
Would have liked to see a revival of Blackthorne too, that was a classic game...

Well played.
It's time to welcome the other 80% of the color wheel to a Diablo game.
