Thanks that's exactly what I was looking for. I found that list on various wiki pages, but never in what order they should be read in.
Thanks again.

I'm considering reading the Diablo Books. I was curious if they run together or if each one is its own independent entity. I'm basically asking if there's a specific order in which I should read them. -

So this thread is to talk about what is the minimal amount, and of what type, of information it would require to keep us all happy till the release.
Granted I'm sure we would all love updates all the time, but we don't want it to slow down their development or interrupt their "flow"... kinda like interrupting someone in the middle of a sentence, train of thought derailment.
What are you thoughts?
For me, I would love a new gameplay video, either every 2 or 3 weeks. These videos would only need to be 5 minutes long and wouldn't have to contain new information everytime. I just want a constant stream of new things to look at.
If we break it down like this, 15 months is approximately 65 weeks. If they were to release a video clip every 3 weeks at the end there would be around 21 clips.
From a marketing standpoint that could be a very powerful tool, and also from a storytelling point of view. There will be 5 characters, shorten it to 20 clips and you could dedicate 4 to each character. These could be use to help bridge any information gaps there might be. Just an idea (not required to keep my interest).
Mostly I just want to see more gameplay material. I'm sure we'll be getting another nice long gameplay video at this year's Blizzcon, but it would be nice to have more than just that to count on.

I hope that didn't come across as Snarky... I had meant it to be Complimentary.
But either way, we should have a better idea of what to expect after Blizzcon.

But next year, I'm definitely going... unless D3 is already out, then I'll be at home playing it.

Everytime the topic of release date comes up, someone versed in the game industry always, very clearly, reminds us that there is still lots to do.
I think it really depends of how much they tell us at this Year's Blizzcon. If they were to do the unthinkable and release both classes, then I could really see a Summer 2010 release.
But if they give 1 class or, I hate to say it, no class, then I have no idea... could be christmas time or even early 2011 before we see the final product.
Just my thoughts, with nothing to back them up.

Well you have awhile before you need to drop that bombshell, so don't stress out. All in good time.

I really like the idea of a "Tear in Space/Time" it would go along with the Temporal nature/flavor that they seem to be giving the Wizard. I'm sure this would be more difficult to implement, but it sure would be cooler than what they have.

But back on topic, I do plan on quitting all other games once Diablo3 comes out, although I've never played WoW, I definitely don't plan on starting.

My gameplan is quite similar to this.
My biggest thing is just to quickly try every class. Do a little running around, slash at some bad guys, maybe only go up to level 5.
Then delete them all.
Pick my favorite class and start going through in softcore, probably with a buddy, we'll see how that works out.

-I'm sure we'd all like to see a new Class, that kinda goes without saying.
I would personally like to see a dedicated gameplay demo of each class, much like they did for the Wizard when they announced it.
But instead of just raw gameplay, I would like to see it with their newest UI iteration as well as a Jay Wilson play by play. But in more of a Director's Cut kinda way, talking about how they may have changed certain skills, environments and UI.
That would be my dream scenario, what do you guys want to see?

@Dimebog - I completely forgot about WWI. But I've been looking for when its going to be held in 2009 and haven't found anything, only that its supposed to be in Shanghai.
Either way I think we can all agree that Blizzcon 2010 will be "High Noon", its definitely going to be a tough ticket to get.

E3 is June 2nd through 4th, but I don't think it'll be likely that they will make any major announcements with Blizzcon so close.
Blizzcon is August 21st and 22nd, if they will be planning a public beta (which I won't think they will) they may mention it then. And if we're lucky they may annouce a new Class, but I wouldn't get your hopes up.
Then they'll continue to announce additional informaion on old classes and bestiary stuff till Blizzcon 2010 and if all classes aren't known then they'll probably annouce the last one and hopefully give us a release date for the game.
I'm definitely going to try and go to Blizzcon 2010.
