i just hope blizzard will tighten up online security if they are going to make gold the main currency. every MMO suffers from gold bots that advertises their site where you would buy gold for real money. it kills a lot of fun for A LOT of legit players.
otherwise, great news x) wish it was 5-6 plays though, 4 is on the low side
JWilson explains that he wants to have the characters of Diablo III to be epicly powerful compared to Diablo 1 and 2. "Being superpowered and allowing the player to defeat hordes and armies of minions will bring the excitement back into the medeval game."
If there's one point I think Jay got totally and utterly wrong, it's this. Quite simply, it takes away any chance of feeling any "fear" or tension. Pair that with no death penalties, smaller skill trees, and repecs, and you're looking at a game with very little replay value. If you're so overwhelmingly powerful, where the heck is the challenge? I mean, the puny little Wizard took several direct hits from a mace 3X bigger than her body, but she walks it off.
Other than that it looks fantastic.

D3 Pros: Outdoors environment, night time environment, female Barbarian, rune spell system, the Wizard class
D3 Cons: Fantasy architecture, fantasy armor, fanstasy weapons, no shaders.
What bothers me about the loot system is that I won't see if someone picks up (or ignores) an item that I really need, so how I won't know to try and trade with them for it. I think it'd be good if we could see other people's loot drop but have it faded a little. Then we could tell them to grab it.
4 is fine for bnet. 8 was awful when you had 2 or 3 necros running around with 10 summons each fulling up the screen.

That's actually a pretty good idea. hopefully a blizz employee will see that post
regarding PvP: i personally hated it. It was full of whiney pre-adolescents that said "lolz pwned noob" and took your gold.
I agree, I like 4, but it SHOULD be 5, to allow 1 of each character in the game. And I agree with Sheepy's first complaint, if they could fix that, then it'd be much better.
And for the one's fearing about the overpowerness in the trailor, hasn't it occured to you that they purposely leveled them up beforehand, to insure they don't die for the sake of the trailor? If you hit a nice high level, then I don't mind characters being overpowered a bit, but otherwise (near the beginning) it should remain a challenge. A reason why I loved ES. Beginning was difficult (well, only in TCP/IP games) and hell was insanely tough.

I don't think he meant it that way he wanted more of a " Lookz atz that i jus epicz pwned a horde of zombieeesss" But have you seen the boss battles? they are brutal when it comes to being good. They make your char look like a mouse compared to a rhino.
Wow, four players absolutly sucks ass... So much for me and my four friends who made a pact to play through together when it comes out... I guess was is screwed... Come on, give us atleast six, four is absolutly pitiful and a huge loss... This should be a step forward, not back...
how are you worried about ove powered characters? all the characters in d2 are over powered, killing everyboss by yourself wiht 8 ppl in game or soloing uber trist isnt over powered? only way i ever died in pvm is when there was a huge lag spike and i couldnt do anything, and also i read that there will be a seperate pvp thing, it was on gamespy i think, look it up,
I really restrain myself from ever making direct comparisons to Diablo and Warcraft. But I want to express my concern about the uberness of the characters that Thasador reported on. I hope that combat doesn't become too flooded with magic and colors (this is not an art direction concern) when fighting tons of monsters. In Warcraft, magic seems so plentiful and contained in every little thing. So much to the point where you would think there is some kind of magical global warming going on and that the Warcraft universe will transcend itself into some kind of higher realm as everything becomes too magical and ethereal.
So Jay Wilson's comments about thing being more epic and fighting tons of hoards of monsters, eh, it just puts me on edge a little. Where's the intimacy in a concept like that? But I'm willing to wait for more interviews that hopefully get more into this so I can really see what that's all about.
Uhh... huh... How is this good or even works for pvp? No wonder the wizards skills are so over-powered, there practically wont even BE pvp with 4 players lol.
AND there going to make us PAY for microtransactions or p2p? (not sure on which) ??
This is jokes right? I mean this seriously gotta be a joke... good one blizz! Because if its serious I'll take a dump on your front lawn.

If you get personally attacked by letters through the internet its a good thing to always have a box of tissues and a band-aid around.
PvP is a big part of the game, any game nowadays. They will probably have PvP games which allow more than 4 people. They won't want to miss out on that chunk of money.

They better dude, Or i'll walk up to there company and just lay out fat juicy log right in the front of their front doors. No lie. I'll video tape the entire thing for proof.

Thanks Siaynoq. I was just thinking that half the people here were jumping to so many conclusions and almost purposefully misinterpreting Wilson's words so they could get a rant in. This is Blizzard, they're not going to screw anything up too heavily, and if they do, they'll correct it in a patch or expansion.
They really should aim for at least 5 so that they can get 1 of each class in. 8 was the number we got used to -but seeing the over the top effects and what not....I think im more than happy with 5 so that we can see wtf is going on in the screen. 8 wizards or witchdoctors would not be fun...im sorry
Blizzard has already stated and given us the vibe that things will progressively get more intense as the game progresses- we're just seeing one act here.
I for one love the way they're using the colour- it's not as over the top as people are making it out to be. Also, the same critics of colour suddenly cum in their pants when they see a dark tristram...I mean cmon- just play with the lights off - it'll be DARK enough then...It would be nice to get some REAL criticism- and some REAL appreciation taking into account that this is all work in progress- what you see is NOT ALL you're going to ever see
awww 4 players....other than that its still looking sick. I think we can all admit wed like a little less lag on bnet anyway so its not a complete loss.

I wanted to ask the guys if they could take a picture of the male version wizard.

There is no such solid info yet. It will probably still be free I think.
