And just for good measure, Doppel - I looked up that eerie pink you were talking about. First let me say that I had a friend growing up who's father was a therapist. He insisted their house have pinkish coloring on the walls because the color soothes people. He's a doctor. There is science behind why he chose pink. Secondly, I looked up pink for you:
Green - Commonly Represents - nature, growth, hope, youth, sickness, health... (rest is unimportant)
I know what youll say now: "They make it so that it only looks like sickness."
Then why not grey as reality and seriousness???
Of course you can say that gray represents reality and seriousness, but what effect do those things have on the mood of the viewer? They become mundane quickly - especially in a fantasy game.
Now you'll say that to you it isn't boring to which I, again, point to the fact that Blizz tried making levels that way for D3 and they said they - as a development team - got bored with them and felt they were very repetitive.
1) Walls, floor etc. is just the color of the stones - grey.
Big torches light the place and give some orange light (dont even think about 'warmness' and 'comfort', wiki wont save you either, orange as 'warning').
Decoration doesnt make it boring.
Some blood on the floor and walls plus the blood of slayen monsters add to the coolness.
^^Thats seen in many dungeons in the old games and works really great.
"Add blood and torches. It makes things better... . Add giant spikes and bubbling cauldrons and evil rats and freaky stepmoms and...just make it better"
Let Blizz work on their game ok? You aren't the final word on what "better" is.
2) Make the green light look really eerie, and it comes from big, magical lamps around the place, which are like fluorescent lamps you know.
The light has to be done properly to give the mood we want. Has to be better than the current lighting, the lamps wont be enaugh on their own.
^^The light in the dungeon is already like fluorescent lighting, spead equally to the whole place you know. The lamps have to be cool and the lighting has to be of better quality. Its just like the improved version of the current.
"Put florescent lamps into the Diablo universe and just make things,...better. Just better things."
3) The first option plus a really eerie green fog that causes a similair effect to number two.
^^Again, almost the same as the current but instead of a sourceless light that just makes the stones look greyish green, we have a cool fog that gives the feel in a better way.
It doesn't matter. It would look about the same if they did this.
Oops. I forgot to mention that I put you back on ignore, Kenzai. I don't mean offense by it. I think I just would rather spend my time not reading the same type of post over and over.
Wow, then I should put you on ignore as well. Ever since you joined you "criticize" others yet you fail to see that you do exactly the very same thing that you criticize in others. Irony?
This is such a trite and typical internet forum comment that I don't whether to laugh or to just say:
Way to make a cliche out of yourself. You're on ignore now too. I can't recall anything interesting from you in the first place, and you still seem mad that I disagreed with you on things in past threads.
Gray? Ok. Who said there won't be gray dungeons in D3? Who said that THIS ONE that they showed HAD to be gray? If i remember correctly, 80% of dungeons in D2 and 100% dungeons in D1 weren't gray. Why would you want all dungeons in D3 gray?

You're just loosing it. Go get a vacation.
we already said this to them,...but they kept droning on and on anyway.
Where were you to start a petition to remove green dungeons from D1 Cathedral. By a random factor, dungeons was rendered either red, yellow, blue, which are primal colors, and oh yeah, green, which is not. That must mean that Blizz had that silly textbook even back then.
I will start a petition that I do not want to see any Asian influence in armor and weaponry in D3 because that only belongs in Lineage! We want DIABLO not LINEAGE!!!!!!!
The game was rendered in 8-bits. The darker it gets, the grayer it goes. It has a total of 256 colors, and each shade of gray, green, yellow, red, brown, purple, orange, blue.... They all count, and Diablo was rich in colors and gradients. If it were rendered in 32bit colors it would be so colorful that it would make you blind.
Extract the Diablo palette in PSP, and save one of the D3 screenshots in a 256-color gif or pcx using that palette and you will see how it would look if they went for an 8-bit 2D engine, like back in 1996.
Anyway, my point remains. Green dungeon. It's not much greener than what I saw in the gameplay trailer. Not at all greener actually. So, where were you to sign petitions back then?
P.S. OMG you idiots I can't believe you actually made me bother taking screenshots for you.
You failed Dimebog, and your pathetic try at spinning things around with "yea but if it was 32bits" didn't change anything.
The game was the way it was and it is in no fucking way anything close to being that green, and this is not even counting the fact we're not talking green lighting here.
Infact, you consider that green to be gray in some of the shopped images.
So you fail on both accounts, wich is apart from being pathetic, just really really sad imo.
Dungeon shown in D3 is not any greener than the D1 screen I posted.
You and Kenzai are the two most pathetic people I have ever gotten to know by an unfortunate turn of events. Have a nice life.
Before I leave you babies to continue your kicking and whining, let me just show you how a D3 screenshot looks like when rendered in the EXACT same D1 palette. See, I actually took time to do it for you worthless trolls.
New art director. Sweet. Now we can have a franchise that FINALLY targets an M rated audience like the entire franchise has always done instead of this over-the-top kiddy bullcrap.

If you get personally attacked by letters through the internet its a good thing to always have a box of tissues and a band-aid around.

Jay Wilson was never the art director. He's lead Game Designer. You tool.

PINK
— Commonly represents —
girls, love, male homosexuality, and bisexuality
I'm sure that the kids photoshopping D3 screens and ranting about "WoW gayness" would appreciate a PINK dungeon to run through...

Diablo had green dungeons.
Second, I find it pathetic that you are fighting so hard and you never actually played Diablo...
