Sol do you have to post every article or blog against the people who are giving constitutive criticism on D3?
Let it go! The majority feel D3 should have little changes made to it to make it more on par with the mood or look of the older games.
Way to be a non-bias staff member. (sarcasm)
Chill out, man. Even staff members have a right to express their opinions. If you don't agree, then you don't agree -- unless you're somehow insecure about your position on the subject, there's no reason to be up in arms about someone in a position of authority expressing dissent.
I have been reading these forums for years waiting for diablo 3, so i will make this my first post.
I LOVE the new game and honestly there is nothing about that game that does not follow the diablo core. It isnt dark enough? Why because the graphics arent still in the year 2000? The game will still have the diablo feelling, just now you can freaking see it.
I think it is so irritating that so many people are complaining about the game when they saw a very small portion of it, and IF blizzard decided to change anything graphically in the game, we would have to wait that much longer. Shut the hell up. ;-)
I am sure there are many aspects in diablo 3 that came from World of warcraft. Although a game that gets old now a days, World of warcraft is an awesome game, straight up.
So how about you wait for the game to release before you complain about something you really know nothing about.
Im a firm believer of if you dont like it dont buy it, and imo this guy hits this idea dead on. I mean hey, for everyone that hates D3, D2 isnt going anywhere :P.
well, I'd like to start out with the most .... interesting quote out of that article...
"It's even harder to believe that a ten year old girl can lubricate her entire body with egg yolks then squirm into the urethra of her mother's penis and follow it until she returns to the womb, but I saw the drawings. It can happen, people."
That scared the hell out of me...
That out of the way. I think people are over-reacting.
Ok, fine, I'll admit, D3 doesn't look like crysis, or Supreme commander, it's not a groundbreaking graphics engine. Who Cares!? Last time I checked D2 wasn't groundbreaking anymore either... yet people still play it online all the time. Strange isn't it, maybe that thing ... oh what's it called.... Oh right, Gameplay. Maybe the gameplay in D2 is good enough that people keep coming back, Hell blizzard has D2 as still the most successful action RPG of all time, they have starcraft, one of the most played RTS games of all time, and now they have WOW, the biggest MMORPG of all time, hell, I think these guys may know how to make games that have great gameplay value... Holy crap, they might actually be focusing on the gameplay, instead of making graphics that will only run on a quadcore +SLI system... :Amaze: :Wonderment:
Second.
OMG THE NECRO'S BEEN REPLACED!!!
Wow, blizzard made a change, which hasn't even been confirmed yet...
IIRC, they made a HUGE change from D1-D2, that EVERYONE thought would make the game suck. they took out spell scrolls, and spell books, no more anyone learing fireball...
But Wait... D2 prevailed, even despite the much dreaded change. :Amaze... you get the point.
Second on this, we don't know the necro's been replaced, we may have a small crossover in skill sets, who knows, necro's might come back with curses, and resurrects instead of summoning demons...
Third
WTF?!?!?! Floating health thingies.
Ok. I'll admit this one 'kinda' concerns me, there was a bit of strategy required with the potion belt, I'm kinda with most fans on this one, I do like potions, not the way D2 did them, hated the slow regen effect of them, but still, I liked potions, this one will definately take a bit of getting used to, before, if, people like the idea...
My mind is open on this one, but potions should come back... It's going to suck if you have no health, no glowy red orb thingies, and you're in the middle of a dungeon, without potions, that's a rather crappy situation... We'll just have to wait and see... Maybe they'll have an out of combat only style of potion, that would definately be very cool, or maybe out of combat regen... Who knows, like I said, a little weary on this one...
Finaly
Seriously, fan's are pissed about size of monsters?
Yeah, definately one of the DUMBEST arguments I've EVER heard. big monsters are cool. It's not like hell couldn't toss whatever they wanted at us. I think this new idea of differnt sized demons is rather sweet.
Biting heads off, yeah, ok, unless that's a finishing move (works if you have less than x HP) that will REALLY suck for anyone, especially if you're playing a hardcore char...
Honestly, I really like where blizzard is going with this new one, I am looking forward to finaly, hopefully, seeing the conclusion to this story, with one or 2 expansions...
We don't hate DIABLO 3, we love it!
We have wainting for this for a long time and now that it came to us, we are afraid of the inovations Blizzard gave to us.
Every change it's dificult, but it's necessary for evolution.
The only thing i don't liked was the change of necro for Witch Doctor, but i can handle that and it will never be an obstacle to buy diablo 3 and pass years playng it until Diablo 4 release.
Diablo 3 is graphically and artistically great, there needs to be variety in the game, instead of only plain and dark areas!
+Wouldn't it be better and more interesting if from a sunny beautiful day, mist starts covering the screen, rain starts falling, thunders and lightning striking and it starts to darken, instead of constant dark!?
In my honest opinion, people need to shut the hell up.. Visually, the game has above and beyond surpassed my expectations.. Up until now everyone was b!tching and moaning how Blizzard is neglecting their Diablo fanbase, well guess what, if you keep at it there won't be another Diablo.. So shut the hell up, and try to accept that the game has evolved.. No world stays the same.

Lace me with the words of destruction and I'll explode, but supply me with the will to survive and watch the world grow.
The article is funny:) and sadly true. I cant bilive that diablo "Fans" can say something like "graphic sux" for D3. I hope blizz doesnt chages a thing, ive been waitng 5 years for this game to come. I just think that ppl are too opssesed with Wow and other shit and where ever they see a little similarity they go "OMG WTF??? this SUX"
Mankind always finds something to complain about; gamers doubly so.
That article on SomethingAwful is a bit of a lol-take-that effort. I enjoyed it immensely. I think any D3-art naysayer who's read that and still continues moaning has probably passed the point of rational complaining.
I LOVED what I saw in the gameplay video. I want to play it right now. I don't care if it's 1/10th of 1% done. I want to play it. I know that Blizzard makes the best games ever, because they take the time to do that. The game looks amazing, those globes have been in other games (a console vampire game my old roommate used to play alot, can't remember the name) and it's a good system. I really wasn't a huge fan of just buying a ton of potions and then hoping I didn't get hit so hard that I died before I could fill my health.
This article is awesome (as somethingawful often is). It's perfectly correct. Everything I've read in that petition (yes, I did read it because I wanted to see what it was all about), just seems like no matter what you want D2 again. I remember when I first played D2, I wasn't that impressed with the graphics. It got a bit better when I got a better graphics card, but I played the crap out of the game. I was a moderator in my school's computer lab, so were two of my friends, and though we didn't think the graphics were amazing or anything, we played that game for about 9 months straight. Because the game was amazing. This is the first Diablo game that looks amazing in the diablo universe. The rainbow is almost impossible to notice. I asked several of my friends who played D2 and none of them even noticed it. I didn't even see it until I looked at milanv's sig. Seriously? You noticed that? I'm gonna have to go watch the high quality video again and see if I can catch it in action, but it looks awesome.
I think the game will get darker. The game takes place in a world where everyone has forgotten/given up the belief that the past two games even happened. That means things have to start in a pretty good place. I mean, how else would these people believe that nothing that bad has happened in the past? If it was super dark and eery all day, how could you not be constantly afraid of some evil demon coming after you. My basement is dark, if you think I don't turn on as many lights as I can when I go down there you're sorely mistaken.
I understand your want for it to be the way you think it should be. That's totally fine. However, I think it's to the point of nitpicking. Yes, those statues are a bit lame, SO WHAT?! It's a statue that is really only there so you can knock it down onto some monsters. Plus, I don't really care about tiny little details like that. The gameplay is #1 for me. Like I was saying about D2.
On Sol being biased. Who cares? It's not an us against them thing. We all want to play Diablo 3. That's the way it is. If you feel you are in the majority, then he is the dissenting voice. He's the one who's standing up against this giant juggernaut. Either way, it's a funny article about D3, which is really what the point of this site is. It's about news about D3, they've made posts about people's distaste with the graphics, and now they're showing the other side. Oh no.
This website has turned to shit, it's unbelievable. You call that non biased? This was the worst piece of crap comment on what the majority (yes, the MAJORITY) of diablo fans want. I've only seen one person on this forum agree with the arguments that their refuting in this article and no one cares about him, on either side.
I am very close on the fence, I love the game which makes up in coloring by having a better gameplay, animations etc. etc. BUT this does not mean that the atmosphere is right!!! This is not a Diablo background!
Ha screw it, I didn't even care about the wowish graphics anymore but you guys keep shoving it in our faces and making us look like fanatics when only 1% of us are. F*** this place if we can't even say something is not to our liking and have an opinion, you guys are freaking yaysayers that think everything is perfect with the world no matter what.
I think that article hit the nail on the head. I agree with it all except the part about the big boss. He was the only redeeming quality that made the game look.... good.

What is normal? Normal is a concept that everyone or a majority of people are the same or similar. However, we know that everyone is unique. If everyone is unique, then everyone is different. If everyone is different, then everyone is weird. If everyone is weird, then everyone is normal.

True it does. Valid point.
I will tell you one thing though. If blizzard does react to the petition then that does imply that it might "as I think it is" be accurate.
Its like the old famous saying "Beauty is in the of the beholder"
Just curious if they were even expecting polarity, i mean they knew all along on what direction they were going to take
