well if you tink of it like this. how long are you going to play the game. like you might not play it for a year. then you have to pay for that year. "i have never played wow so i dont know about the paying system." but ne way they probably wont have it if there is single player invovled i think. i dont even think there is anygame that you have to pay that has a single player feature.
If they realeased a Diablo MMO, I'd pay for over 5 years. That's if I felt the game was worthy enough for it. I don't want any bright colors, no silly quests, and I need blood. Lots of blood.
If Diablo 3 was a MMO with P2P truthfully, I might not get it. Depends on, grindfests or not, you kill lots of enemies at a time with a single move or not, and it has to be true to Diablo's lore and story.

WoW has many payment options. You can pay automatically w/ credit card monthly, bi-yearly, or yearly. Also, you can buy a pre-paid game card for 29.99 at most gaming stores and Wal-Marts for two months of game time. These cards can also be purchased at places like Amazon.com and I believe they are cheaper there, but then you have to pay shipping.

If you go to a club or a movie every weekend and spend $50.00, it's still more acceptable to society then paying $15.00 a month to play a game which is too complicated for most people.
I agree with you here that the whole thing is mental and its more acceptable in US society to pay for drinks than a game. This is horrible IMO. I mean the Japanese read manga on the way to work like people in New York on Wall Street read news papers.

As long as the game brings back memories of what it felt like to pick up Diablo for the first time it will be alright with me. Sitting up with friends till the wee hours of the morning playing for two hours then switching off. Remembering when SOJ's could get you anything, and I was lucky enough to get 10, and had my pick of the best equipment out there. Being so totally engrossed by a game that you just can't leave it alone. As long as it does that for me. I don't really care how it turns out.

I just hope they don't go in and completely change everything that we know and love. Improvements are good of course. But we still wanna be able to recognize it as Diablo.

If it becomes an MMO then forget about recognizing Diablo's gameplay, there is no way in hell (pun) Blizzard could make hack&slash work in an MMO enviroment, no one can.
First of all, you cannot give time requirements to programmers. We are very slow, lazy, procedural, wise, we need time, if you speed us up, we get pissed and we don't work because it doesn't deserve our attention.
Second of all, we need money for the servers. Programmers are only middle class and we are pretty poor.
Third of all, we can, of course, make that in one year without anything extra, but it will be slow and buggy ass hell. Point is, it is still possible.
And, where did "in one year" came from? How long did WoW take? Another MMO will take as much time + more graphics + more servers to compensate for Hack&Slash.
"Cards and flowers on your window, your friends all plead for you to stay,
sometimes beginnings aren't so simple, sometimes goodbye's the only way."

Flagship's Mythos is an hack&slash MMO though...
i'm surprised you even use the internet how closed-minded you are.
