"I respect your candor Warrick. And these deaths will be avenged, you have my word." Buliwyf said. "But I will not charge blindly into Riddia. They will be expecting a retaliation of some sort. I will not suffer further needless loss of life. I must go now and speak with my brother, we will decided our next course of action."
Buliwyf remember last seeing Jamis in the church, he began his search there. Walking passed the throngs of scared and wounded children and women, and the soldiers. He made his way to the rear of the church. Light poured in through the door, a figure was in encased in the light in the doorway. It was Jamis.
"Oh no," he said aloud then, with the heavy thud of armour, collapsed to the ground.
"JAMIS!"

Ignis nodded at Buliwyf, he and Warrick would have to wait to fulfill their need for vengeance. Riddias time will come, no doubt about that. Thought Ignis to himself, trying to convince himself that now was not the time to rush to Riddia, and that they would need to wait.
"Warrick, looks like we won't be attacking Riddia. Thought I thank you for standing beside me, I'll have to make sure to watch your back more often." said Ignis to Warrick, saddened that they would not be able to avenge the deaths of the townspeople as soon as they had hoped. Should stick near that guy, seems to be a like minded individual, no doubt we would make a fierce combination in the heat of battle. He thought, wondering if he had just gained himself a future ally in battle.
He heard a crash of armor behind him just as he had finished speaking, and heard somebody yell Jamis's name. He whirled about and saw Jamis crumpled on the floor, with Victor quickly rushing over to carry him off, hopefully to a padded wagon.
"Buliwyf... is there something wrong with Jamis? This is the second time I've seen him pass out, perhaps that wound he sufferend in Phillipassus was more serious than we had thought." said Ignis, wondering if Jamis was as strong as he seemed. Would be a shame to lose a leader like him. Thought Ignis, hoping that Jamis was only tired, and that it wasn't something more serious.

"Yes I understand, we will get revenge though, mark my words" Warick said to Buliwyf as he exited the church.
"Warrick, looks like we won't be attacking Riddia. Thought I thank you for standing beside me, I'll have to make sure to watch your back more often."
"They will meet their deaths soon enough, and I promise you, they will be slaughtered in the most beautifully brutal way possible. And I would be honered to have you as a friend, no, a fellow brother of the burning blade" Warick said as he gave Ingis a pat on the back.
"JAMIS!"
Warick quickly turned around to see Buliwyf looking down at his brother and Vicktor carrying him off towards the medical wagon. Wheres that damn Archivist with his healing scrolls when you need him. Warick thought. He walked behind Buliwyf. "Do not worry, Jamis his strong, he will pull through." He said with uncertainty in his voice.
Looking over the bodies littered everywhere, she thinks all the people who are still alive have been taken to the church. She looks around for Buti and sees Buliwyf running towards a crumpled figure and realizes it is Jamis. His wounds must be deeper than we thought if he has colapsed again, she thinks.
She heads over towards Buliwyf and Jamis to see if there was anything she could do to help.

Mordwythe had just arrived at the stone-block steps, worn, battered, and lightly coated with lichen, when Jamis collapsed to the floor in a surge of pain.
The fool, he thought to himself, he should have known better than to belittle injuries incurred in battle. Foolhardiness does not befit a leader. Hopefully he will display an attitude more becoming of a budding commander in the future, or all of us may well be doomed.
Mordwythe nearly came to offer help to him, but then thought better of it. If he wants to lead men and women in to battle, possibly to their deaths, he thought, then he must learn to stand on his own strength. We do not have the time or resources to cover-up for everyone's blunders.
With that he turned from the scene, his robes whipping in a growing wind, and headed back to the village. "As for these people, this village- It is a sad thing, yes, but we are not getting paid to rescue and care for widows and orphans. We were paid for the battle, which we won. It is Tappas' own fault that she left her own gates wide open to destruction."
Before, Mordwythe had been somewhat sympathetic with the scene of misery, but both unease and impatience were now gnawing at him that they should be getting on with whatever else they must do.
With his brother being tended to by the priests, Buliwyf began the arduous task of planning the attack on Riddia. He studied the maps and sketches of Riddia and the surrounding terrain, and the many hand written notes describing the town and it's fortifications, as well as recalled his encounter with the militia.
"They favour heavier armored infantry." he said to himself. "And numbers."
He leaned back in his chair and scratched his head as he pondered which strategies to best employ.
"Numbers count for naught if they cannot move, but a single unit of well armored soldiers can last a long time and take very little damage." he said. "And lest I forget what the volley of archers can do."
The main entrance to Riddia was via a long and narrow drawbridge.
"If I can force them to concerntrate their forces there on the bridge, they will be unable to move. But I will need to find a way to take out the archers in the towers above the bridge."

"Numbers count for naught if they cannot move, but a single unit of well armored soldiers can last a long time and take very little damage." Ignis didn't like the sounds of this, heavily armoured soldiers meant a long, drawn out battle.
"We'll need to find ways to exploit the chinks in their armor." Said Ignis with a glance over the notes and maps, "Kifu has shown some remarkable abilities with swarms of insects, perhaps we could call on him to help eliminate a fair amount of the soldiers."
"If I can force them to concerntrate their forces there on the bridge they will be unable to move. But I will need to find a way to take out the archers in the towers above the bridge." "I guess this is where I make my contribution to the plan", said Ignis with a slight groan.
"Remember how I said I had a misspent youth? Needless to say, it sometimes involved scaling buildings to get... things from inside. I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about, but I'll refrain from actually saying it out loud. Anyways, if you need somebody to get up the walls, I'm your man." Said Ignis, finally glad he didn't have a typical childhood.
"With any luck, I'll also be able to locate the drawbridge lever, and let the rest of the knights in the town."
"However, this may not be easy alone, a comrade would be welcome." Said Ignis as he glanced over at Warrick. Looks like we'll finally get to follow through with that promise, they will finally pay. Thought Ignis, a dark grin stretching across his face as he imagined the coming battle, and the coming vengeance for Tappas.

"Are we talking more of a stealthy approach or killing everything in sight?"said Warrick, obviously favouring the second.
Ignis took a quick glance at the maps, before deciding their course of action. Never thought I'd be a tactician, but I guess I'm the most experience here in stealth. Thought Ignis with a feeling of pride swelling through him.
"Before I start, I must stress that we must attack at night, else this plan will never work." said Ignis as he glanced at Buliwyf, hoping for approval.
"Anyways, I propose the 3 of us go along the right side of the castle. If we can get ourselves a canoe, or some form of boat, we can paint it to blend in with the grass at night. If the 3 of us hide under this, we can be protected from their gazes, and any arrows if luck should fail our stealthy approach." said Ignis, hoping that they would not have to dodge arrows.
"Once we reach the moat, we simply use the boat to get across silently." Ignis chuckled at this point, realizing how ridiculous this boat idea sounded. However odd it sounds, it will work, with luck.
"At this point, hopefully the rest of the knights will be distracting the archers, and focusing their gaze and attention away from us. With the archers distracted and clumped near the frontal towers, we will easily be able to toss grapling hooks up the side of the walls, and climb up." Ignis glanced at Donsro and Warrick, noting that their ascent will be slower with their armor. At least we won't be weighed down by the water.
"Once we're up the walls, we'll have to work quickly to eliminate the archers, and open the drawbridge for the rest of the knights. It may sound borderline insane, but it may be the best bet we've got. As long as the rest of the knights can keep just out of range of the archers, their attention will stay on them, without the danger of being in the line of fire." His plan on the table, Ignis hoped that it would gain approval.

"Now that my friend is quite the plan. I just hope it's as easy as it sounds," Donsro says with sarcasm. "As long as we don't draw attention to the lookouts, we should get up the walls without an issue. Now, about the boat. I'm not denying anyone's stealth abilities, but three men hauling a canoe all the way to the moat does tend to attract attention. Might there be boats already there that we could take?"
Ignis nodded at Donsro, noting the sarcastic tone of voice.
"I highly doubt they would keep boats moored in their moat. We're either going to have to use a smallish canoe, or find some other means of getting across the moat. Swimming is not an option, if we're wet then there is no way we'll be getting atop that wall. Keep in mind that this will be under the cover of darkness, however. So hopefully visibility will be at a minimum where we'll be approaching. Perhaps we could scrap the canoe plan, and fashion a wooden plank that would be able to cover up part of the moat?" said Ignis, realizing how impractical hauling a canoe would be. Oh well, crazy fails from time to time. He thought to himself as he chuckled, feeling somewhat idiotic.

The night had finally come, hazy smoke slowly diluting in to the crisp night air and the last glowing embers of destruction fading in to cool darkness. The sky was pockmarked with bursts of color and light, a grand display of nature's elderly fireworks- stars of all shades and sizes caught up in great glowing clouds.
The night air hinted the aroma of quivering deciduous trees in the slight breeze ever so lightly. All was calm. And so it is that every great calamity will be followed at the heels by peace, however much it may have cost.
His temper soothed by a leisurely walk through the woods just outside the ruin of Tappas, Mordwythe returned to the church, as monolithic and darkly set against the sky as ever, but now with its stained glass windows filled with candle light dispersed in to a symphony of colors.
It was a symbol of stability, warmth, and comfort. Healing was in its walls. He noticed that Jamis was no longer slumped upon the threshold, saw some of the Knights trudging in for the night, and followed suit.
Upon entering, a priest told him the way his companions had gone in a soft-spoken voice, sorrow still lingering to his eyes, though he showed all the signs of mending, emotionally and otherwise, after the slaughter. The gift of humanity- to learn to live again.
He entered a small side chamber, dimly lit but cozy, and saw some of the Order surrounding a table with Buliwyf at the head. They were planning a return strike against the Riddians- Mordwythe discerned that in moments.
"Buliwyf, why are we returning the fire? What have the Tappans paid us to do? Fight their battle! The battle is over, we are not entitled to continue with this."
Realizing the makeshift canoe plan is their only option, Donsro nodded to Ignis. "We have stealth on our side during darkness so I belive this can work. So I believe we are settled then?" Donsro sat down in a nearby chair and breathed out slowly.
"We have stealth on our side during darkness so I belive this can work. So I believe we are settled then?"
"No, I do not believe we are. Is there further pay for this ends? Do we have anything to compel us to continue to kill, which, in turn, will require more of the same? If we are going to be propagators of the endless plight of humanity, we might as well have pay for it."
"Are we talking more of a stealthy approach or killing everything in sight?"
"A combination of both." buliwyf said. "There is a small outpost here, a small group will assault the outpost and take the clothes from those they find there. The river is shallowest at the point. This is where you will cross the river. Using the clothes from the men at the outpost you will approach Riddia from the western gate. This gate is smaller and less guarded. Kill the gate keepers, then signal to the rest of the men with you to charge in and make your way to the main gate house."
Buliwyf stabbed the map with a knife at the location of a small hill north of Riddia.
"Meanwhile the majority of our force will be concertrated here." He said. "Gathering what we can, we will fashion many flags and standards, creating the illusion we have more numbers than we actually have. this should force most of Riddia's forces to the front and onto the bridge. We will assault them from the front while those from the west gate come in from behind."
"Buliwyf, why are we returning the fire? What have the Tappans paid us to do? Fight their battle! The battle is over, we are not entitled to continue with this."
"In order to keep the Knights of the Burning Blade going, we need a war chest. If we cannot add to it via payment, we must add to it with the spoils of war." Buliwyf replied. "Secondly, building a reputation is never a bad thing, it can lead others to look more favourably towards us, and offer more generous rewards."

Warick listened to Ingis plan intently. "Sounds good. I didn't know you were on for tactics." Warick said with a grin. "I know what you are thinking, With all this armor on, I will slow you down. Know that my grandfather crafted this armor with the lightest and sturdiest plate he had... he was saving it for my father..." Warick said as he began to think back about the day his parents were mercilessly killed, just like the people of Tappas. I will never let this happen to anyone ever again. He thought of the boy in the church whose father had been killed. No one should have to go through that pain.... by nightfall.. Riddia will pay.
Ignis thanked Warrick for his enthusiasm, but had to correct him. "It seems that we're using a different plan, I was not aware that outfits would be available to us, and now we'll be taking some from a guard post."
Ignis noted Kira's offer to help take out the guard, andBuliwyfs complete neglect of deciding who would be a part of the first strike. Is he even aware that people volunteered? Seems he's off in his own world sometimes... Thought Ignis to himself, wondering if this man was fit to be leading the attack.

Viktor looked down at Jamis and realized that they were not going to have the time to get him the help he desperately needed. Everyone was already to occupied with the invasion against the Riddians.
"It looks like I am going to have to do my best to heal these wounded, including Jamis."
Viktor pulled out his book and held it in one hand while he placed the other on Jamis' wound. Viktor closed his eyes and lowered his head. A brilliant gold glow emanated from Viktor's hand. The glow crept from Viktor's hand and moved towards Jamis' wound. Just as soon as the glow reached the wound a giant beam shot up from the wound up into the heavens. Viktor opened his eyes and saw that Jamis' wound was completely healed.
"I have never done that before."
