well, i think that diablo will also come before sw. and frankly i think that we would all be overjoyed with either though. the fact that i love all blizzard games makes me happy that we will be seeing a new one soon. the only one i would have problems with would be another warcraft game. i dont think i would quite handle that. mainly because we deserve diablo and starcraft before another warcraft.
Sc2 would need to be at least as good as sc:bw. Can blizzard do it? I dont think so. Their last RTS (wc3:tft) was/is horrid.
Why do you think they tried to diversify the franchise by moving it to FPS with ghost? They've had no idea how to make sc2 for a decade now, and I think they still dont have one. No company has been able to make such a great game, with the perhaps hundreds of rts titles that have been released since. Honestly, I dont know if i want to be disapointed by a sc2, and do you think blizzard will take that chance with one of the greatest titles ever? World of Starcraft is more likey, I think.
Though, they did release wc3:roc, so maybe it wont be too long before rts is completely dead with sc2.
well mac attack, you have the start of a great argument. on the other hand they are excellent game makers, they have opinions from millions of players around the world, ghost was probably an attempt on a prequel of some kind like WoW is, and Starcraft is something that is easily maneuverable. i mean, you can go anywhere with starcraft. the marines or the zerg can get their hands on plasma blades, or the zerg can adapt to harsher conditions.
the other reason is that it is a great game like diablo. diablo and starcraft are at the same level, always competing for more sales or players. to me rts's are a bit boring unless your playing with a friend or brother in the next room. but others would disagree. the point is that i dont think that starcraft is even near the end, though in my opinion it would be the third in place for the blizzard productions. personally i like the clickfest of diablo. where in a second you can die. starcraft is trickier, you need strategy too. to me at least with diablo it takes very long and a lot of work to make a godly character. starcraft is way faster.
I think it could be a side by side production but D3 will come out before it cos people will spend way too long hours playing SC2 than D3 to learn everything about it.

It was postponed indefinitely. Fact of the matter is, that you have no substancial reasoning to say that.
