If you noticed i mainly praise my most beloved classes: Mages and Rogues ;P
Anyway, i'm just showing people what they're missing. I got enough things to do in WoW while waiting for Diablo 3 that way ^^
the "worst" thing in WoW tho is the thing i mentioned earlier: it needs time.
you spend hours travelling. Even by gryphons it takes a good while sometimes. And you always tend to forget the real world while in there... time passes too fast!
ive seen the traveling while others play, and i do think it would take a long time. however is it like guild wars where you must concentrate on a single enemy or like diablo where you can attack and run? i dont like the GW way of pvp or pvm, i like it when i can at least use a big spell and kill a couple enemies, even if they are weak.
most classes have some aoe spells (area of effect) which allows them to attack multiple targets, but its mainly the mage whos the king in that. Dont expect the monsters to fall over as easily as it happens in Diablo though... but the combat system is pretty much mmo typical: click the mob, tap the x or y spell/ability, wait till it casts (if its not instant) and continute the same way. There are only a few spells that hit a whole area.
(from what you're saying you'd be better off with a mage. The aoe potential is really high - i've been killing 2-3 enemies at the same time pretty often lately).
And don't expect to own anything until you get decent gear. Most classes struggle against two creeps at the same time while low lvl, while some bosses irritate people to no end (Hogger ).
But, on 60, or 70 now I suppose, if you get the best gear, you have serious destruction potential. And the game is as fun as you make it. But no, do not expect to run in with a mage, cast a few Blizzards and hope that all enemies fall dead. They won't.

hehe i played as a pally in wow and manged to get that booberag to get range kills so i was happy but the big thing s that i was able to kill most magic orriented characters in 2 min (some killled me tho) or less course i never got passed lvl 20 so i guess i dont really count but it took me for freakin (1 month around i didnt really keep track so) ever and ill admit i though WoW was fun but i dont know it just doesnt seem as fun as d2 lod. I thinks its the fact that everyone in WoW seemed so much higher and well some were like gods so..... Basically i think i like d2 lod cause in that im godly for the most part even on my new chars. I need to cahnge this but right now schools outwieghs my WoW lvl so i could really carless until the summer arrives in which i might turn into a zombifyed mmogammer again which i hope i dont.
mages with decent spec managed to kill many monsters at the same time (the imp blizzard build was best for that particular job - me on the other hand i prefer faster aoe killing: aka improved Cone of Cold and Shatter for crits). Anyway, besides the technical stuff you'd learn while lvling, its all a matter of what class you find most attractive. Just experiment with the classes. Some of the vital spells you get early on anyway, so its not too hard to see what you like and what not. (Only exception for me was the mage, i had most fun after lvl 30). The lvl 60-70 items you get in Outland (expansion) are better than anything, tho. Even the mightiest epics (for which we worked our asses off raiding and preparing) are easily replaced by simple items.
I should have clarified, but what I meant was that even though a mage is the best AoE farmer, it isn't the same as having a blizzard sorc doing Baal-runs decked out in uniques and runewords.
Now regarding the new greens, the way I got it was that T3 wuld b viable in Kharazan and other early 70 dungeons. Is that no longer the case?

well, i'm in the most advanced end-game guild on my server. We even got our first lvl 70 already. Myself i hit 65 bit earlier tonight. We started changing gear with early lvl 60 blues and greens - they really were upgrades... Blizzard really gave non-raiders an easy time getting upgrades with this one.
Highest is 70.
If you mean deafeating as in becoming 71, that's impossible.
If you mean defeating it as completing everything, expect it to take forever.Literally. First you will need a month to 70 (assuming you learn along the way). Then you will need 1-2 months of gathering gear for raids. Then another 1-2 months for beating the last dungeons. And by that time new "last" dungeons wll have arrived.
All this time is assumpions. It would have taken considerably longer pre-BC, but according to Blizzard thigns should go more smooth right now. But I think this estimation is optimistic.

from what i've seen till now most BC instances are bit smaller than they used to be (nothing like BRD thank god). Anyway, since the instances are smaller and the bosses closer to the entrance (Magtheridon's Lair for example has only Magtheridon in it) it should be faster/easier to get to/kill than having to kill the same trash all along or run through long distances (Supression room/Fankriss/Heigan etc). Even at mid-60s its easy to get from quests stuff you wouldnt even dream of while raiding pre-BC atm. Having seen some of the end-game rewards (got 2x lvl 70s in our guild now, several lvl 69 and myself almost 68) we already started changing our gear completely.
Highest lvl quest boss i found atm was a lvl 72 elite i fought for some friends tonight. Most raid bosses dont have a lvl tho. They're ?? (or skull marked) cause they're "Bosses". Anyone that starts should take his time while lvling tho to learn the class skills/abilities/gameplay best before raiding.
The dungeon policy is just as Phrozen said. Before we're finished with an instance (or just after we are) we get the next, harder one to beat. And it goes on and on and on...
Amen to that. I am completely serious when I say that I never completed it. PUG's are just impossible, and I didn't have time to raid, so our guild mainly ran UBRS/Scholo etc...

few bosses, close to the entrance, not too much trash. Thats how most of the new instances look and they're interesting like hell!
Anyway, just hit 69 and i'm terribly tired, so i'll go to sleep Tomorrow i got to get me first flying mount! (the 5200g epic one will have to wait till i get the 4.2k i'm still missing :P)

we replied, but then there was nothing more
anyway, its way easier to get gold these days. I payed my 900g for the normal flying mount tonight (finally 70!!!) and i still got around 1200 (started with 138g in the expansion). After all questing after 70 will give gold instead xp and thats a ton of gold we can make there.
I can only imagine what will happen well all those lvl 70 decide to switch level professions and copper comes into demand. Or rather when brand new characters reach 70. I'll be able to charge at least 5g fro 20 bars!

Who does?
The only time I use it is if I want to complete a quest and can't arse myself to complete manually, or I want some good-looking gear while leveling.

You're not supposed to do that, we don't want WoW to lose its reputation.
