I don't think it is right to have to pay the price of 3 fucking games for what should be consolidated into one. I'm a little peeved that a well known and respected company like Blizzard is taking advantage of us. I don't think that Blizzard cares about what we want anymore. I would put my money on dollar signs. Money.
While making good games, I think Blizzard truly cares about profits, not making their fan base satisfied.
Go figure, a business wanting to become a bigger business . No one is forcing you to buy the games, either. If you don't want to buy three games, then don't.
SC II should be out around the Q1-Q2 and the expansion i suspect will b done by Q1 2010 and Q4 2010 so you can feel the new campaigns and have a 3 quarter wait to complete it all then give you the final pack in which youve sucessfully completed the game.... Then id also expect an extra expansion with new maps and stuff..
yeah d3 shuld b out around lat 09 cuz give or take a few motnhs WWI 09 will prob reveal the fourth class and then Blizzcon 09 will reveal the 5th class and the release date...the only reason i say blizzcon 09 is because they need a big event to sport the announcment and blizzcon is perfect to hold the release date and final class, i also assume a beta test to be out around WWI09...its either that or WWI 09 4th class Leizpeig Germany 09 5th class and beta test and then Blizzcon release date and a bigger demo

Erm, I think you have your projected timelines off. First the SC2 beta has to start, and there is about 3-4 months of playing beta, then the game will ship 3-4 months afterward. So if SC2 beta starts say in November and plays until March, the game is likely to ship at the beginning of Q4 2009.
I don't see how you think Blizzard will release both SC2 and D3 in the same calendar year, that is just bad marketing.
the first part of SCII seems done almost and diablo 3 is well on its way especially since its been in the making since 06...i have no doubts sc will be released in the first half and diablo three late 09 to early 2010

Whether it's done or not is completely irrelevant. It's called hype and marketing. That's like Toyota announcing two brand new cars that will have 120 MPG mileage and they release it six months apart. Wtf would be the benefit from tihs? That's right NOTHING.
They want the MOST they can sell out of both of these games. It's safe to say that if S2 and D3 were released six months apart, not everyone will buy both games, whereas the likeliness of them buying both increases dramatically if the games were farther apart.
Besides everyone's greed and/or marketing reasons aside, what really bums me out about it is that even though we'll get the Terran campaign, if we choose to play multiplayer there will still be all the Zerg and Protoss units to play as well. This only bothers me because I really liked how in the first Starcraft the units were gradually introduced to the player as they progressed through the campaigns. And as each mission went by, they became more sophisticated and powerful.
But now when I play multiplayer for the first time, and build every unit for each race, I guess I'll just not be as impressed when I see those units in the Zerg and Protoss campaigns for the first time. Anyone feelin' me on this?
You don't need to buy the Zerg and Protoss Compaign games, you can still play MULTIPLAYER from the First game when they release it! They already stated you can play battle.net or Multiplayer with all 3 races on the First game..
And Rob Pardo already said each of this "Compaigns" will soley depend on the quality in it, if its just compaigns then it will be very cheap, if they are going to make it an ACTUAL expansion like many new units, maps, tons of new features, or even a new race, then the price will be like Expansion games.
Starcraft fans should be happy, because from what im seeing Starcraft 2 is going to have 2 expansions! Each of those 2 expansions already with 30 Full Compaigns! total 90 compaigns including the first.. I bet they can easily add new units or features in those 2 expansions like Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne or Diablo 2 LOD.

Gosh, I hope you don't think I misinterpreted that fact. Cause I fully understand how the release is going to work. My complaint was the lack of surprise in units when I play the Zerg and Protoss campaigns because I already have seen them all in multiplayer.

Adding new units isn't as easy as you think. At least not if you wish to maintain a balance of units and not have too many overlapping units. The more units there are, the more you also get pressured to micromanage them. This was a big problem I was having with The Frozen Throne. Holy crap, the freaking Night Elves just had so many units I couldn't discern any type of strategy anymore. I gave up on them and just fell back to using the classic, rugged and straightforward Orcs.
And even if they managed to add some new features and units to the Zerg and Protoss expansions, which I'm sure they will, the bulk of the races' features have already been exposed to the player. However, it's not like I'm completely disappointed in all of this. I'm just saying it would've been nice to be able to see all the units first as I got to play against them in the campaign. But at least I'll get to gradually fight against all the other units in the Terran campaign.
By the way, there are only going to be 3 campaigns. Not 90. You're thinking missions.

Don't be a silly goose. Not everyone's complaints have been pointless rants. You can constructively give Blizzard criticisms without that meaning that you don't trust or have faith in Blizzard.
It's blizzard i'm pretty sure they can manage the 2 expansions, there are so many things they could add and do on those 2 expansions, they could pretty much add a new race, if they really want to.. Or add a new feature like Coop Campaign Missions from RedAlert 3. Yes balance is hard, but they can surely pull it off!
wtf wtf wtf wtf wtf (k holy shit i meant to type blizzard right there but typed EA and only realized it after i read this over) Blizzard are becoming douche bag money greedy ass holes.
3 parts for an rts game...? god damn... wtf honestly.... wtf
i just cant even think properly right now, why the hell are they doing this? ideas?
This is old news man. (merged your thread with the older one)

The first one would be 49.99, like most PC games and then the other two would be 19.99, just to clear that up. I actually don't see this as being that big of a deal, as all the multiplayer components and races will be in each release and the Terran campaign is bigger than the entire campaign for Starcraft. So it's not like you're not getting your money's worth. Plus it seems like Starcraft 2 wouldn't be released until hopefully 2010 if it was all released at the same time.
how is that getting your monies worth... rts campaigns arent hard to make at all. basically your just paying for the storyline as ultimately when it comes down to it every rts mission is exactly the same

Its not like they're releasing the seperate game versions at the same time.
Part one will feature the Terran Campaign and the FULL multiplayer experience with all races.
A YEAR later, we'll get part two, which features the Zerg Campaign
A YEAR after that, we'll get part three, which features the Protoss campaign.
Also, they said we're looking at 28-32 hours of gameplay for EACH campaign. They haven't even started work on the Zerg and Protoss campaigns.
I can find sources for all this
thats bs honestly, there is no way they are going to release the game in the period of 3 years. just absolutely NO fucking way... i am willing to bet my life on this. they are greedy ass holes and it will all come out in under a year

Of course Blizzard cares about profits, it's why they make games. And it's not like you aren't getting your monies worth, as each campaign will be larger then the original game.
The only thing that is slightly strange is that they said they would add new multiplayer components in the different releases. If they are, they should have the new bits available as free downloads if you don't want to buy the new campaigns.
except many many times before, high up blizzard emplyees have said that they make games because they want to be able to play those games, they make games they wanna play because they are gamers. now they are making games because they are greedy douches

Blizzard even said they're in this business to make money
they didnt say they were in the business to make games and make fans happy
Thats what happens to large successful corporations like Blizzard... They are just in it for the money(as if they didn't have enough...) I am very depressed about the release of this game and the fact that we are most likely to pay a monthly fee for battle.net2...

Of course they're a business, and their goal is too make money... Come take a step into the real world. You have a misconstrued view of how the world works and why is works that way
Secondly, no, we wont have to pay a monthly fee for Battle.net 2.0. They said so themselves
Theres a difference between regular monthly fees, and paying for features which are not free
Extra costs would pertain to the individual game, I don't see why it would be connected to Battle.net 2.0 as a whole
Ill try and find the quote... Its hiding from me
P.S - Ok... Cant find it... Does anyone know where the quote Im looking for is?
I know what you're talking about Genesis, where he talks about paying for character transfers stuff like that.
liquid, they're PC games so they'll be $50, they're won't be a monthly fee for either of the games or bnet 2. And to be honest, I'm not going look up all the links and quotes for the sake of your own ignorance and lack taking the initiative to find them yourself.
