Sadly ended up with many protesters being arrested. I thought it was funny they "discovered" that the oil was leaking.
Those pipelines are ALL pressurized and they have alarms that go off when there is a breach so the fact that it wasn't handled as quickly as it happened and it was "discovered" later tells me someone wasn't doing their job. Who cares though right? It's just 1000 barrels of crude oil being washed around into some of the best fish habitats in the world. With the rising flood levels it may even be spread around even further, no biggy though.
Frankly, I don't care much for them. I completely stand by the message that we need energy reform, and I agree that there is a lot of greed associated with the oil industry and they purposely keep the people in a sleeper hold, but these sort of movements are hardly a blip on their radar of worries.
I'm saying that, if you want to kick these fuckers where it hurts, it is better to go outside and publicly endorse renewable energy. Weeding the people off of oil and coal will hurt these guys in their coffers. Hopefully, the rate at which we adapt is greater than what is necessary to put these guys out of business.
If you take a look at American history, boycotts have the potential to unleash terrible economic and political consequences. Boycott oil, endorse renewable energy. That'll put these fuckers to shame.
And no offense to this movement (I guess I hardly understand it), but I think it is way too ideological for its own good.

Videos are a pretty good way to get a message across.
