Just to drift away from finding more evidence in the picture, who could suggest the relevance of the symbols?
My opinion: they could represent the 5 seals that need to be broken in order to release Diablo in Chaos Sanctuary, thus we would get a total of 5 circles and then, ta-da we see a kick ass Diablo on screen. And btw, someone said once they could see a number 3 on the right hand side of the teaser... I must agree its pretty evident to be a mere coincidence...
Again what the picture is actually of isnt going to matter, its just being used as a code within the bigger URL, stop focusing on what the giant purple thing is.

Versusee.blogspot.com <-- Come argue with me about games.
The two doesn't look exactly alike, either, just like the Shael rune.
Truth be told the first simbol looks more like the one found on frostmourn than the shael rune from Diablo. On the other hand the second symbol is exactly 100% the same as Hel rune.
Whch means we can still hype: Hype, Hype, Hype!!!

The Barbarian is from Arreat, a very cold snowy mountain top, but they are much tougher than normal humans, so they don't need warmth.

Where are Barbarians originally from? Sumeria, or more specifically Mesopotamia, AKA Europe. Think the Alps and the Pyrenees

If it's NOT 100% look alike, don't assume it's that Lich King sword symbol, it NEED to look 100% alike!

Blizzard, please put back the single player offline mode!
Guys the rune from frostmourne looks a bit different too the one on the splash image has a much higher branch while the on on frostmourne looks just like a y with the two branches equal, so it could go wither way but personally i think it looks like a sheal. Check out the attached image.

Lost Vikings should be published by Ubisoft, not Blizzard.

So if it looks 90% like something from Warcraft- then it's not from Warcraft, but if it even slightly resembles Diablo, then it's definetly DIABLO!
No matter.

Ok i am off now. Lets wait for another part of a picture to complete my image =) I know this image is true because i saw it in real, not some kind of dreams or imagination about hidden runes and diablo faces in ice xD
While not showing a whole lot, i pulled the image into Photoshop, and used the Glowing edges filter. This filter found the hints of red underneath the blue and emphasized them. There is clearly a head-like figure behind the ice. And it is devil red.
it's not perfect look at the branches on the upper side. The Right side branch in the splash goes way higher then the frostmourne whoes branches are the same, I am not saying it's 100% like sheal but it's not 100% frostmourne rune either. Again looked at ym attached image. You will see what I am talking about
Hell, It probably is Frostmourne's rune, what better way to completely flip out fans of all franchise's of blizzard's game than to put subtle signs like that in the teaser, that are really there for no other reason than to drive all of us freaking insane.
its working....
When diablo's giant fucking face pops out of that ice he could be holding frostmournes in both of his freaking hands for all I care.

Even though it's not Shael rune, doesn't mean it's the Lich King sword symbol, at all!
There are many other possibilities!
