I have seen that. It's nice to see how big Star Destroyers are in relation to the Enterprise. I wish there were some Wing Commander ships, though. http://www.merzo.net/
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

I question some of the scales and whether they are truly accurated.
It's hard to imagine for me that the Death Star was actually larger than V'ger.
Not that I can't imagine the Death Star being really huge, but you only see V'ger within a giant cloud and when the Enterprise is flying over it, it seems to just take forever until they clear it. It felt more like a mobile city for machines.
I was very pleased to see that the Dyson Sphere beat them all.
This isn't even to scale. It says it's 200,000,000 km in diameter. The Dyson Sphere is an amazing concept. Constructing this sphere to encapsulate a star.
But there are several designs for it. Building such a sphere and making it hold together is an incredible feat, never mind the process of acquiring the materials.
As the article says, it was theorized to be the ultimate source of energy for a futuristic society. I wonder how it would measure up to cheaply produced anti-matter though (assuming it can even be produced in economically feasible amounts).

Yeah, I can't picture such a concept being viable in any aspect. I suspected the aliens who built the one in Star Trek did it more out of wanting to leave an enormous legacy behind, as opposed to actually needing one for living.
There's no way you're going to build ship big enough to dwarf a Dyson Sphere. You'd probably need a material equal to a couple of million planets. If most of the ship was solid that is.

Well, if you take into consideration that stars orbit the center of their respective galaxy, then you can say that it moves at least...
I honestly had no idea that the Super Star Destoyer was that huge. Although I did read some of those Rogue Squadron books where they talked about X-Wings being able to destroy those things in much the same way they took out the first Death Star.
So, all in all, I still think the Defiant would have a good chance at winning against one.
Hehe, you should know better than to make cross-universe arguments on which ship could destroy another.
However, when you think about how when that A-Wing flew into that round ball shaped thing on the Star Destroyer and the whole thing blew up, they do seem kind of frail.
Lexx could probably blow the Death Star up, it's a planet destroyer, too, and more maneuverable. But any fast fighter would be able to mess it up from inside because the Lexx is not equipped with any kind of turrets or anything at all.
I suppose any ship with a gun capable of destroying a planet could also destroy just about any ship. Therefore, even the Behemoth could take out either of those ships, but it's extremely vulnerable in certain areas where not turrets are mounted and armor plating is incomplete.
Lexx takes a while to fire... like, <30 seconds. The other ship will just run out of the way. But if the ship is small enough, the Lexx can just eat it up.
And Death Star won't hit Lexx, either, it will just fly away, too, it's pretty fast. Not sure about the Behemoth though, looks like a neat ship. It all depends on firing speed.
As I said before, it's all there on youtube, I can give you links. But, no, season one, is not for rent last time I checked netflix, they only have S2-S4. Lexx doesn't even sell anymore, it's done. So it's only available for torrent.
But you won't like it, you are a Star Trek fan. I wrote out everything about it in the "great movies" thread... not all that sci-fish.

Except some cool ships were way too small because they were way too small... Talyn and Moya were barely visible.

Or maybe I just didn't find it on that page. Those SW ships are huge...
Is the Executor class ever in the movies?

I feel tacky for linking Wiki so much lately, but it can be so useful sometimes.

It's seems that the "normal" ships are here: http://www.merzo.net/10mpp.htm
I really like the 4th down, looks all raggy and greeny.
And the station kind of "ships" are here and so on: http://www.merzo.net/100mpp.htm
Probably because 17 Km for a ship is more than enough.
