I have nearly every equipped item with Magic Find on it which has me at 45% MF. I ran the last quest a few times in public games and nothing but blues dropped from the elites and from the SK. So, I decided to do a full clear of the entire beta solo. Same result. The only yellows I got to drop on this character was the first kill of the Skeleton King and they were both useless. My blue bow was more powerful than the yellow bow. Is anyone else seeing this same thing?
I realize this is the beta, 45% MF is probably shit compared to the full game and it's really not a conclusive test of how MF is going to be in the full game. I'm just wondering if everyone else is seeing that the available possible Magic Find in the beta really doesn't seem to do much?
Assuming MF works like it did in D2, 45% wouldnt be anything you could ever notice. 100% made a specific drop rate go from 1% to 2%. So, ya MF in Beta doesnt do much. It will work better when you can actually get 200+

From how much I have played the beta I've made many MF based, Gold find based and DPS based characters and from that, a DPS/Gold Find has shown the best results for the beta. Gold find, for finding more gold with your kills and DPS to kill things quicker. I would "farm" champions which always drop at least blue item/s. More magic find = Less damage = Slower run and more time taken to get roughly the same results as having 15-20 more DPS and having a lot of gold find as well. In the beta since the level cap is 13, there's not to much you can do with MF. Even with the best MF gear you can find it will hardly effect what you get in the beta. End game is a completely different story.
