I don't think the trees are back. They are probably so use to the word that they still use it to talk about each characters skills.
Yeah, that was my first thought. Maybe they are still designing the skills with a "tree" frame of mind. As in, they come up with an awesome Barb skill and think "This is definately a Battlemaster skill" even though no trees are to be implemented. That's what I called a "slip"
Exactly, there are still "types" of skills and the word tree is just burned onto the brain. I have always thought that the new system will not be much different from the skill trees anyway.

In my opinion if you have more than one skill and they are all not available at the same level and time it is a skill tree. Changing the name will not change the fact that it is a tree. What is important is skill design and how it interacts with items and the environment. I want to see skills that are situational but lock out other skills or make them less effective.

It appears they are bringing back the skill trees, unless it was a slip. They are also working on the monk skills, but that was obvious.
I was really looking forward to this new skill concept they talked about. Do you think they are really bring trees back or was it a slip?
