Hello everybody. I am planning on getting this game soon so I can play with my girlfriend but had some questions.
1) The witch doctor looks like a lot of fun and I think I'm going to roll with him. After we beat normal co-op I plan on using whichever character i used to then go solo and up it to nightmare. Do you think the WD is an easy to handle character soloing on nightmare or just soloing in general?
2) My girlfriend is unsure as to which class she wants to use. Not trying to talk about her behind her back but she's not really the best when it comes to playing video games but does enjoy them so any advice on classes that are pretty simple that she will enjoy using? She said he might use a barbarian, wizard, or monk.
(I'm playing on the PS3 version if that makes a difference!)
3) I see lots of people farming for EXP and loot and gear. Does this game sort of require you to farm and grind in order to advance? I like challenging games but don't really have time to be doing that all the time.
Thanks for any advice and help you can give me! (If i do plan on playing as a WD I think my next character will be a monk or barbarian. Barbarian is apparently OP but looks little boring to me imo)
EDIT: I also want to play through the game first without looking up any build advice. I want to try things and experiment on my own first and then if i get to harder difficulties then i will probably)

WD is awesome, was my first 60, I was able to solo from start all the way through inferno with little difficulty using a dog/Gargantuan build.

Whirlwind Barbs are pretty easy to play and VERY effective in both solo and group play
3) I see lots of people farming for EXP and loot and gear. Does this game sort of require you to farm and grind in order to advance? I like challenging games but don't really have time to be doing that all the time.
I think REQUIRE is a little OTT... but it does involve alot of farming, before RoS comes out and introduces Adventure Mode, once you hit endgame farming is really all there is to do, raising Paragon level, getting new gear etc all requires farming. Tbh that is a core of most ARPG's so if you don't like farming you'd do better with something else
1) The game is not very hard. If you play video games with any degree of regularity, you won't have a problem playing any of the 5 classes all the way up through Inferno on Medium.
2) I would suggest either the Barbarian or the Monk, as they are passively hardier than the Wizard, WD, or DH, which require more active avoidance. That will let her focus on just attacking and having fun.
3) You will have no problem whatsoever playing straight through Inferno as long as you keep the difficulty on Medium. In fact, I was able to switch to Master I for my first play through of Inferno (no grinding whatsoever) and could have switched to Master II after that.
4) The Monk is TONS of fun. The Barbarian is also fantastic on the PC, but on the console version I found him a little lethargic. His "mobility" skills (Leap, Furious Charge) don't work quite as well with the controller.
Enjoy!
