So just a thought...with the death of the AH will come a reduced emphasis on the "community" aspect of Diablo. There will be a lot more self-found action, and with that will come a much larger demand for an offline mode than ever before. Do you think Blizzard will finally give in or continue to insist on how online-always and constant ties to the Battle.net community improves the experience?
Or am I reading too much into this and the AH has nothing with online/offline at all? Opinions?
Absolutely not, and there was a bluepost last week IIRC saying that D3 will never get an offline mode.
For me this is like going back to D2 ladder (played self-found, only trading with friends) but without duped items (so if I really desperately wanted to I could trade one item, and don't need to be afraid of dupes).
Well, just to be clear, I'm not desparate for an offline mode. I have a decent internet connection and I don't play HC, so always-online doesn't really bother me.
But aside from the offline issue, the AH was the one thing that everybody was sure Blizzard would never change. And now...
id rather be forced to always be online than to have every game be full of hackers when i do decide to go online.
But removing the AH will only open up the door for hackers/spammers/etc. to further take advantage of people who want better gear. That's kind of my point....
I agree with the philosophy of always-online. Removing the AH, IMHO, seems to be somewhat contrary to that philosophy.
Nope, they said that D3 will always be online. Forget about offline D3, isn't your computer hooked up to the internet all the time anyway? If you are desperate, you could buy the console version since it has offline mode.
Yep I did, so as I move around I leave the laptop at home and drag my PS3 with me, anyone know of a good carry case for PS3?

Don't worry. For the gamer on the go, they will port D3 to the Vita and 3DS. Then everyone can play D3 exactly the way they want, right?
