We all know that Blizzard is changing up Diablo a lot and a lot of it is WoW-like. Some people are pissed, some people don't care, and two people like it.
But where exactly will you as a Diablo fan draw the line? At which stage will you stand up, raise your middle finger high into the air, and turn your back on Blizzard? (Not buy the game, that is.)
For me, I draw my line at mounts and/or professions. This game shouldn't be a borderline life-sim like WoW is turning out to be. It should be 30 hours of cutting through demons and progressing your skills and gear. And there certainly shouldn't even be a need for mounts at all.
i dont see the "changing it towards WoW" sort of thing you're referring too. The very little we've seen of the game looks very promising and feels very much like the Diablo III most of us have been waiting for.
I sure dont think that mounts would be of any use in Diablo III and i very much doubt we'll see them implemented. Same works with real trade skills (professions even). These guys have been talking about the importance of loots in the game, why make a profession and ruin that?
i'm very certain that most people are overreacting and even those that say they wont buy Diablo III, eventually will buy it.
I'm already sure i'll get a collector's edition of the game. Even if i find some of the ideas they're going to implement (the ones yet not announced, right now i like what i saw) not good.
Ive already passed the line with the level of brightness and the arbitrary lighting.
Ive always bought every blizzard product up to WoW. I drew the line at WoW, for its crap fest of a game(mostly content-wise, but the crude ugly graphics didnt aid matters). As it currently stands, diablo 3 looks too much in the style of WoW for me to buy it. Unless they back off of their current spiel of game design, theyve already lost me as a customer for two thirds of their lineup.
@FingolfinGR
What I'm talking about is all hypothetical. I'm not saying they will, just that if they ever did get this stupid, this is the point that I'd walk away.
Also, I guess I didn't make it clear enough, I wanted to talk about the little things. Most of the mechanics and playstyle are still Diablo. It's the little things like interface and single-slot items and music that I meant were turning WoW-like. Y'know, little stupid features that add up to a game. But how stupid is too stupid? That's what I'm asking.
I think i read somewhere that JW said that D3 will not have any mounts. If you ask me for the source give me time to read all the interviews again...
hypothetically speaking. Your reply is irrelevant, because the initially post is asking where you would draw the line, regardless whether or not its been implemented.

Post away.

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
