hey guys, i just thought of something today, and it made me wonder. Is there attack rating, defense, chance to hit, and so on..type things in D3? I don't remember ever seeing anyone miss anyone else. That being said, I probably wouldn't have noticed if anyone missed in an attack, so this is just me wondering : P. As far as i can remember there are no screen shots of the armor pieces statistics are there?
You probably didnt see the barb guy missing becoz he was ubberly lvled to that dungeon, it was only a demo you know...
maybe they will release another gameplay to show different aspects of the game

I know that, I'm just inquiring about it all. Even though defense made no sense at all in diablo 2, i kinda liked it how they did it. It is funny though that if you have stronger armor on it doesn't help you get hurt less but rather makes you harder to hit : P
i wonder how fast the leveling is cuz if he was uberly leveled for that dungeon he gained some pretty good exp by the end ;D even tho he didnt level
Idk, maybe they didnt calculate the amount of XP by monster or getting less XP due to high lvls... you guys can relax, cuz every little thing gonna be alright
and yeah, i dont think they would trash all the working system from d2

Yeah I think when in the end of the trailer they said "lets see how a real fight looks like" the trees and siege beast were probably higher level monsters. Their hp didn't go down as much etc.
Defense in Diablo is like in D&D System... the difference is between the amplitude the numbers can get
I kinda like the D&D system.. I remember in BG2 when at start the characters are weak but when u get their Armor rating low enough almost nothing can hit you
In wow for example, you get shitloads of armor and still get hit.. (altho there is +defence mod for tanks that reduces chance to get hit, but mostly tanks get these items only)
In D&D, different kind of armors (leather, chain, splint, plate etc.) had different bonuses and penalties to being hit by different kind of weapons (piercing, slashing, blunt etc.)

Yeah nice thought, having some bonus against some specific weapon type would reduce % damage taken against that weapon. If I understood it the same way as you
i think if we have to do that it should be more specific than blunt defense, slashing defense, etc. etc.. Like, 'Axe Defense' and 'Hammer Defense' or 'Roundhouse Kick Defense with % immune to Chuck Norris'

I can't fathom why enemies would be able to block without our heroes being able to block.
After all, we are supposed to be the superior ones.
(And StarCraft 2, but moreso DIABLO III!!)
