I got a Mirrorball from Kadala a couple of weeks ago but the rolls were so low that I never bothered to really give a MM build a chance, even though it did do surprisingly good damage when I briefly tested it I decided to stick with my ol' FO build. But today a new Mirrorball dropped for me and this time it had excellent stats, and I was getting really sick of my Lightning build so I decided to give it a fair chance this time even though I have almost no fire gear, only 15% on amu and 19% on bracers. Gotta say, I'm blown away by MM - Conflag, it clears so fast and it melts absolutely everything that got some meat to it once the DoT stacks start kicking in, and it scales so well into higher torments. Now I desperately need all those +fire damage legendaries, I can't even begin to imagine how awesome this build will be once I have the gear for it.
I've been running MM build for 2 weeks now and its awesome.. just got past few days all fire drops i could want except amulet -.-.. Its just i dont know what could be next upgrade for me. I got Cindercoat in my stash with bad rolls but dunno if it is good to swap with my Aughlid... Any suggestions ?
I can solo higher torments ( IV ) pretty easily with black hole + duplicate build and just faceroll every pack with MM so toughness isnt a problem for me..
I've been running a build pretty similar to this, and its really damn strong. the only difference that I have is running an armor (normally pinpoint barrier for the crit chance) instead of teleport. I think teleport is a great spell, I just don't like the way that it feels.
So I decided to try this build out as a change of pace after a bunch of mediocre fire stuff came my way. I was running Tal's set + Mirror Ball-Charged Blast with a Moonlight Ward before and I'm not sure if it's the ability to stack so much extra +Fire or if Mirror Ball-Conflagrate is that much better than everything else but my kill speed on T3/T4wentup significantly even with garbaggio fire items. Thanks for the build, I was honestly surprised at how much more effective I was and will be doing some Ghom tests tonight.
I used to run an arcane build (unfortunately without Moonlight Ward), archon/disintegrate, going up to T3. Kadala sold me 2 Cindercoats, one of which was pretty good (int/life%/3 sockets, still haven't decided how to reroll the life%), and I already had a Mirrorball, so I decided to give it a try and gear for fire (crafted Devastator and gambled Magefist, mostly).
My sheet dps went down from 1.3M (+33% arcane) to 950M (+92% fire), and I've been able to step up to T4. But more than that, it's made for a very nice change of pace, it's pleasant to change specs every now and then.
I've tried WoF - Heat Wave, but I definitely don't enjoy the spell, so I'm sticking with Meteor. I briefly tried Molten Impact, but I dislike not being able to spam it, seems sad not to use the 29% cost reduction from the Cindercoat
Can only agree with other posters here, swapped from what i thought was a fairly well geared frost build (around 80-100% cold ele dmg) to a a fire build with similar specs and the mirror ball and the difference is night and day.
I went from T2 to T4, everything just gets destroyed, each of my missiles now crit for around 5-6m dmg which is fankly absurd considering i fire 3 of them and they're free.
I'm still playing around with AP spenders, both fire meteors seem like good options although Shower seems generally better in rifts until you hit the rift boss. The 15 sec CD on Molten Impact just feels a little to long, it'd be nice if it was 12 because then it would synergize with Black Hole.
Also what's peoples opinion on Magic Weapon Ignite? The burn should effectively be more dps than Force Weapon assuming the mob lives for the full 3 seconds.
I finally got one Mirrorball with a good roll as well, took me only 5000 shards to get it. What I did noticed is the difference in damage, man this rocks in a fire build. One thing to notice is that there is little room for AP spenders, because, as you will notice, the animation/attack speed while stop casting MM to switch casting an AP spender (eg Meteor), and switching back to casting MM is huge. Its a huge delay and hence you will miss out a lot of spammed MM while using too many AP spenders. So if you use an AP spender, you need to have one that is worth the damage and switching. I noticed that Meteor Shower is not so much worth it, and hardly increased damage beacuse of the time lost spamming MM. IMHO its better to use Molten Impact, you only stop once, but when you cast the Impact its way overpowered compared to MM spam and does massive damage. Better to use one big hit overpowering MM then stopping MM doing more or less the same damage using an AP spender. .I use it in conjunction with Black Hole, and I feel I can gain more with more Cooldown Reduction on this.

At my current gear level (slightly below 1M dps + 92% fire and +26% vs elites), it feels like Molten Impact doesn't pack enough ooomph for one hit every 15 secs, whereas I can spam 4 or 5 showers in a row.
Since I'm mostly using meteor on packs and MM on bosses, it fits my playstyle.
@MrWinkle, Ignite will do less damage than force weapon because only 1 of the missiles applies procs (and despite what ignite says, it adheres to proc coefficients on skills), not to mention that force weapon will add more damage to the almighty conflagrate dot. If you had something like harringtons, ignite might pull ahead whilst the buff is up, but haven't checked.
I don't even bother with Meteor because I have a pretty kickass Mad Monarch's Scepter, which you find in A1 bounty bags. For those who don't know, it procs a pretty potent poison nova cloud everytime you kill 10 enemies. I got lucky and found a 1277 dps one with 1300% weapon damage as poison nova. My poison nova crits for over 25+ million. I use Blackhole to clump together enemies.
I got mirrorball finally as well, it feels good man when soloing (enough damage for t4, but I lack little bit of toughness if I wanna run that efficently) but in groups I feel like my damage is lacking compared to AP spender wizards. They just melt the trash away under a second. For me it takes ages if I compare, but in elites and "bosses" my damage is surreal. The trash however makes me sadpanda, but I guess you can't have it all.
