6 Piece Marauder Discussion - No need to elaborate on your choices just rank them 1-6 (1 being the best, 6 being the worst)
Choices:
Fire Build with Sentry Damage Cindercoat
Fire Build with TnT
Fire build with Magefist
Fire Build with Hexing Pants
Physical Build with TnT
Physical Build with Hexing Pants
1) Fire Cinder / Fire Magefist
2) Phys TnT
Not really convinced on the rest from that list. Not sure why 6p SoJ/Unity isn't on the list, and Augs not on the list either. Might be worth putting garwolf on the list for next patch as it may find a spot for greater rifts as well.
"But ANY combination of 3 spenders would end up with sentries never firing their basic attack."
The basic attk is useless, the spitfire missle comes out when the sentry shoots. "The turret will also fire homing rockets". The rockets are independant of the basic shot. Replacing the basic shot (200%) in the rotation with a skill that does 380% (hits single target at least twice and big aoe) would seem nice.
I run a 1.74aps ca/ms fire build. This is just something i was looking into.
I've tested most builds - I find hexing fire build the best with harrington belt so your constantly moving around to have hexing up and popping things for harrington proc I would say I'm clearing 25% faster than physical tnt / hexing.
Please explain me why, hexing fire deal 25% more dmg (25% faster clear) than hexing fire? How?
First off I didn't understand your statement but I will try to answer it
I was a longtime user of Physical TnT and Physical Hexing. I finally got a fire SoJ so I was able to test fire.
Hexing = I have to constantly move so I rarely shoot CA on my own instead I focus on armor racks, lose ground to proc harrington. I don't know what else to tell you physical is not as strong as fire.So even physical hexing isn't as strong probably due to CA LFB being stronger than Shooting Stars.
I was just wondering why Hexing Fire is so much (25% faster) than Hexin physical.
In my opinion it is completely impossible and subjective statement.
I would like to see any kind of proof on it.
The bottom line is "in my own opinion" fire w/ hexing seems to provide me the fastest clears by a noticeable amount - I play DH everyday I test multiple builds I have no bias for anything - my goal is to run t6 rifts the quickets and hexing fire has proved to be the best for me

Can you tell me why physical hexing is better than fire?
4. physical with tnt/hexing (depends on whether u use chakram or MS, go for hexing if u r using MS and tnt if u r using chakram)
This is because in DH, fire build beats physical build unless blizzard come up with legendaries for physical dmg similar to magefist & cindercoat, u can read about it in the reddit community. If u prefer high dmg go for fire build
but for me i go with physical build tnt despite the build is weaker than fire because of my preferences towards razor disc since it is easier and cheaper to tag monsters coming in multiple wave with calamity. it is good if u r dual wielding 1h xbow due to higher AS

Just curious why you put fire cinder/magefist above hexing.
From my testing the 25% dmg buff from hexing is better than the max 20% roll you can get on magefist and cinder. Obviously with hexing you have to continue to move for me that is good because can run around grabbing armor racks etc to proc harrington.

Could you show me where did i say that physical hexing is better than fire? I just asked where did your pro calculations came from? 25% is a huge difference so there are two solutions:
1) You lie
2) It is really true and that's why i am so curious about it.
I'm going to let you win this one - 25% was just a "feeling" I had since I use to run physical for a long time so when I switched to fire the speed was noticeable. Sorry for throwing out a number.

OMG i did it wrong lol it suppose to go
1 fire with hexing
2 fire with cinder/magefist
Thx for pointing it out. By having hexing, even if u dont know how to side step u already got better DPS from running around but if u r pro sidestepper, t6 rift is like strolling in the park

I agree with the sidestepping but for the damage you're adding its almost negligible - I feel instead of side stepping it's better to run around and grab the Harrington proc.

yup only if u got harrington's belt (huge boost). If not, side stepping is the way to go
No probs.
Going back to conversation you need to take into account that Cinder also let you actually use your CA due to major cost reduction, i am running a physical DH and i usually don't use any spells beside sentries and mark of death (sometimes multishot).
So that is why i believe that Cinder is better choice than magefists, however hexing pants are also not a bad choice.
So imo Cinder>Hexing>Magefists, if you want to max dmg ofcourse.
Personally i just prefer some more survi but that's just me
I think all 3 are viable as BiS for damage and the only variable is playstyle - for me running around with harrington + hexing proves the best playstyle for me others like to shoot their CA LFB so Cindercoat would win there. Also mark of death contagion is almost a must for us hexing users which is another benefit.
I did all my testing against ghom, placed 4 sentries down as quickly as possible. NO buffs, or any attacks, simply place sentries. Same skill set up as I normally run, obviously not going for speed times. Click on my sig if you're interested in the rest of my gear and skill setups. My physical amulet and soj are actually better than the fire versions.
And that's without me actually firing anything. The extra advantage of cindercoat is that it would allow me to fire more myself with the fire cost reduction.
I also constantly look for things to click on for harrington belt's proc in normal play. Using hexing pants is not an incentive for that.
How about (for solo play, obviously) 6 pc marauder + unity/SoJ combo? 100% toughness would probably end up allowing you to pull more recklessly and speed you up even more than whatever bonus cinder/hexing/taskers can give you (not to mention that 15% elite dmg on unity isn't a bad affix at all).
Can't comment on T&T with 6 pc of Mara.
I do however own a cindercoat and hexing.
IMO, it's all about preference and situation, most of the time i'm with hexing.
Due to the fact I'm playing physical with hexing and fire with cindercoat, hexing grants me more mobility and it buffs all my source of damage (sentries, pets, occasional CA/MS), not to mention it grants me a free slot of ability (i used mark of the death: contagion), hexing grants resource regen, hence i do not take any hatred gen on physical build/set., and with harringtons you can effectively seek out for clickables while moving.
For cindercoat (fire), i find it more interesting to play with a puller monk, reason being you can shoot CAs yourself and with close mobs proximity CA:LfB is fully utilized compared to CA:shooting stars.
However playing with cindercoat means i'll give up mark and go for a hatred gen, quite negligible if you're playing with a monk (EP/mantra/IS buff).
I also have different sets RCR for cinder for fire (with cinder), and CDR for physical (with hexing), and i do feel more comfortable with CDR (more wolf buff)
I've always wanted to try Mara 6pcs with boots swap out for nat's boots, dual wield nat's slayer and calamity (which i do not own one yet), i figure it would free up an ability slot, but not many skillset of DH can be used tho.

Razor disk is what i used before the m6buff and dev arrow nerf, it hits a few times.
2) Phys TnT

also, i still don't have bombadier atm. is it safe to say i should increase cdr when i do get it?
thanks

Your choice of wep also plays a huge role in which comes out higher.
Cindercoat also lowers your trail of cinders by 2 disc.
1. Fire- Cindercoat (18%fire,15% sentry cindercoat)
2. Fire- Hexing
3. Fire- taskers
4. Physical - taskers
